Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Bellefeuille.
Hi Jill, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2017, I experienced a moment of profundity that cleanly divided my life into before and after. The experience left me disoriented, overwhelmed, exhilarated, hopeful, and as the sole voyageur on a soul voyage. The story itself spans years, well a lifetime, but I share it all in my memoir, but the shortened version is that through tremendous fortitude, I revealed a self that was deeply sequestered and built on survival-based performance in a culture that rewards inauthenticity for the sake of admiration and financial gain. Since, I have worked on building a life of authenticity, not ease, but truth, honor, and integrity. Teaching and learning are both inherent characteristics of mine brought about by birth, natural, and formal education. As such, I have translated my lived experience, healing journey, and wisdom into a live curriculum that is shared via podcast and soon-to-be published memoir and lexicon.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. It has been incredibly arduous. As a single mom and someone whose system can no longer tolerate unaligned situations, I have had to create firm boundaries and make difficult decisions to stay aligned with my own inner compass. The first, and most influential, decision I had to make was leaving a life of privilege and ease to make a life that was true to my nature. One where I no longer had to contort to make myself fit. I went from perfectly, on the outside, fitting a mold, to becoming my own. Walking away from a marriage, a career, and a lifestyle that was carefully curated to one that requires intention and attention at every corner has come with a lot of hardships. I have had to face a lot of generational and environmental inherited characteristics, break them down, and build my own. This has not been a single struggle but many along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I started Soul Voyageurs in November of 2022. It is a land-based healing business. When I started it, I offered healing services like Reiki, yoga, shamanic principles, and My Human Design readings to enable clients to find their internal authority and begin to live according to it. Since then, the organization has turned into a land-based nervous system regulation podcast with episodes released twice a week. They are short narrative episodes that take every day experiences and reflect ways to stay regulated in a, sometimes, chaotic and distorted world. I am also in the process of creating a lexicon to reflect emotional experiences that have not yet been named, to allow a deeper understanding of what it means to be a sensitive person in an abrasive culture. I am also planning to publish my memoir which will allow readers to see the full arc of living in various states of survival mode, and coming out with a fully-formed internal navigation system that relies solely on self-formed morals and values in a world that seems to have lost its moral barometer.
What matters most to you? Why?
Heart-aligned living that allows authentic connection and relationship in an effort to create a more harmonious world!
