Conversations with Kelly Sharp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Sharp.

Hi Kelly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2007/08 the economy and my marriage crashed. I had been selling real estate for 13 years. My next thought was time for something new. I’d always had an interest in cutting hair. I chose barbering to bring back a dying industry.
In 2009 there weren’t that many barbershops in Minneapolis, seemed like a great location to build a business.
The traditional barbershops back in the day community gathered to talk about politics, religion, and daily conversation about local neighborhood gossip. Fathers would bring their sons in hot lather shaves were in demand and my motto was one good haircut at a time and bringing the community together for the greater good. I’m in my 16 year and proud to serve NE Minneapolis and many communities beyond.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One day at a time sometimes a moment.
Lead with Love and compassion always and the rest works itself out.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
First and foremost we check our egos at the door! We love what we do. We care about our clients and our first priority
is them and truly listening to what they’re looking to achieve in grooming desire.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’m the eldest of 4. I was bossy and in charge! I loved to be outside playing from morning til supper time. Kick the can, hide in seek, building forts, go cart races. Softball and basketball in school and loved the debate team.
