Today we’d like to introduce you to Keshon Hughes.
Hi Keshon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Keshon Hughes, and I’m an artist based in St. Paul, Minnesota. I was introduced to art as a kid after attending school at Linwood/Monroe Arts Plus. This school for the arts allowed me to explore my interest, and helped me direct all my attention to what eventually would become my passions. After attending college at the University of Minnesota Duluth, I was able to hone in to my niches. Working on a degree that had an art emphasis helped me realize that acting, filmmaking, photography, and singing are things that make me content. In 2025 I continue to search for new acting gigs, and work on music everyday.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Having multiple interests can be a challenge because I go through phases where I focus on one type of art more than the others. There’s multiple things that I have long term goals for, and sometimes it can be overwhelming trying to chase those goals at the same time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
While in college I was interested in fashion photography and filmmaking. Some of my photos were selected to be a part of various galleries and exhibitions. One of them being the “ON CLOTHING: The Visible Self” group exhibition in Rome, Italy. I also created a film on the topic of fashion that got into various film festivals, including the “Minneapolis/ St. Paul International Film Festival”. As of lately, I’ve been focused more on acting and making music. One of my most notable acting roles is in the CW television series “Hostage Rescue” where I played a SWAT officer.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One thing that I have learned about my journey is that it is okay to have multiple interests. I have been told a couple times that I should focus on one thing at a time. I think that life should be about trying different things, and not being afraid to fail.
