Conversations with Lynn Schuster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Schuster.

Hi Lynn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started with a draw toward detail-oriented work and the ability to help people feel more confident in a natural way. I opened my studio with a focus on lash and brow services, As my career grew, I felt a strong pull toward education and began teaching and mentoring other beauty professionals.

Instead of choosing one path, I built a business that allows me to do both. My studio has evolved into a tranquil, plant-filled space shared with other women in the beauty and wellness industry, creating a supportive, community-driven environment.

That sense of community has shaped where I am today. In addition to client services and continuing education, I’m now expanding into hosting retreats—offering beauty and wellness professionals a space to step away, connect, and continue growing in a more restorative setting.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As all things in life, queries and challenges arrive; and we adapt and evolve.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I spend my days in the tranquil, plant-filled beauty studio where I specialize in eyelash and eyebrow services designed to enhance natural features in a low-maintenance, intentional way. My work is very detail-oriented, blending technical precision with a soft, natural aesthetic so clients feel like themselves—just more polished and cared for.

In addition to working with clients, I am also an educator offering continuing education courses for licensed cosmetologists and estheticians. I focus on helping beauty professionals build confidence in their skills, refine their technique, and create sustainable careers. My approach to teaching is very grounded and supportive, rooted in real-world experience behind the chair.

What I’m most known for, and most proud of, is the environment I’ve created. The studio has grown into a shared space with other women-owned beauty and wellness businesses, forming a collective that values collaboration over competition. It’s a calm, welcoming space where both clients and providers can feel at ease, supported, and inspired.

That sense of community is what truly sets my work apart. Everything I do—whether it’s a service, a class, or a conversation—is rooted in care and connection. I’ve never wanted to build something that feels transactional. Instead, I’ve focused on creating an experience that feels intentional and restorative.

That philosophy has naturally expanded into hosting our first annual retreat. The retreat is designed for wellness professionals (not just beauty industry folks) who are looking to step away from their daily routines, reconnect with their creativity, and continue learning in a more meaningful, immersive way. It’s an extension of the same environment I’ve created in the studio, just on a larger, more intentional scale.

At the core of my brand is the belief that beauty of self care, education, and community can all exist together—and when they do, they create something much more impactful than any one element on its own.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I think we’ll continue to see rapid growth in technology—tools that make booking easier, marketing faster, and businesses more scalable. While those advancements can be helpful, they’re also contributing to a “churn and burn” model where speed and volume are often prioritized over quality and connection.

For us, we’re intentionally choosing a different path. We’re focused on supporting our community in a way that values real, person-to-person interaction. That means taking the time to build relationships with our clients, mentor students thoughtfully, and stay connected to our local community through outreach, collaboration, volunteering.

I believe there will be a growing divide in the industry—between high-volume, fast-paced service models and more intentional, experience-driven businesses. And I also believe more clients and professionals will start seeking out spaces that feel human again.

For our brand, it’s about intentionality and community at every level. We aim to make every client experience restorative, personal, and grounded in connection. At the same time, their support allows us to give back—contributing funding to local programs and initiatives that nurture and uplift our community. In this way, every visit becomes part of a larger cycle of care, connection, and shared impact.
