Conversations with Sarah Crawford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Crawford.

Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Born in New Zealand, I began my career in hair and makeup before moving to Australia to specialize in film and television. After several successful years in that field, I transitioned into destination weddings, honing my craft further. In 2015, I relocated to America, where I co-founded Smokeshow Studios, a comprehensive destination for all things beauty and fitness.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been an absolute adventure. Taking me to many new countries and meeting lots of different people.

For someone that never finished highschool I’m glad I picked a career that I love and never get tired of.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
After nearly 27 years on the industry I have been able to build a large team of artists. This now gives me the ability to be the best artist I can possibly be. I can specialize and take my time with my brides and beauty clients.
My attention to detail is unmatched and even with all my years of experience I am continually advancing my training and working beside some of the leaders in the industry.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I would have to say that I am from New Zealand and again never finished highschool. I found myself in a difficult situation at the age of 13 years old and had to find my own way. I started makeup then and have never put down my brush
