Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzie Voy.
Hi Suzie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a creative side, but floral design began as a creative outlet, playing with blooms, colors, and textures. What started as a hobby slowly blossomed into something more as I found myself drawn to creating arrangements that feel whimsical, colorful, and full of life. I learned through practice, inspiration, and designing for friends and family, and over time it became something I genuinely love sharing with others.
Today, I continue designing florals on the side while balancing my full-time career. Floral design has become the creative space where I can slow down, work with my hands, and create something beautiful. I’m excited to continue growing my skills, exploring new creative ideas, and bringing a little more beauty and whimsy into the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always moments of self-doubt. Like many creatives, I’ve experienced imposter syndrome and questioned whether my work was good enough or if I was ready to put it out into the world.
At the same time, those challenges have made the journey even more rewarding. Every arrangement has taught me something new, helped me build confidence, and has helped to refine my style. The older I get, the more I realize that art of any kind is subjective, and the right people will connect with the right artist.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m very inspired by interior design and the cozy, feel-good charm of cottage living—spaces that feel warm, inviting, and effortless. I love translating that same feeling into my floral designs.
Pink flowers have always had my heart, and roses are my favorite bloom to work with. I love exploring how different shades of pink can be paired with complementary colors.
While I enjoy working with all color palettes, pink is definitely where I feel most creatively at home.
What I’m most proud of is seeing larger weddings come to life. There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching an idea that started with an inspiration board transforming into a beautiful, immersive space. Stepping back and seeing everything come together is one of the best feelings.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think curiosity and openness of trying new things are the biggest reasons I’ve grown as a floral designer. I’m always looking for inspiration, whether it’s from nature, interior design, fashion, travel, or a beautiful garden. I love learning new techniques, experimenting with color combinations, and challenging myself creatively.
