Conversations with Sydney Sperling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Sperling

Hi Sydney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My love for the female figure started in 2014, I was in my early 20’s and wasn’t sure how to express myself. I went to target and bought a all in one paint kit and started to paint on canvas. Over time I kept painting and found myself only painting the silhouette of women.

Skip ahead to 2020, I was selling my paintings but I didn’t feel fulfilled. I saw a job posting for a Boudoir Stylist at a company called Three Boudoir. I quickly got hired and the void inside of me was filled, I knew immediately that this is where I was suppose to be. After 2 years and low pay, I quit the stylist gig and bought a camera. I spent one year learning how to use my camera and after that year was up, I started a business. Now, I am one year in and growing day by day.

Life is short, don’t wait around for things to come to you. Go get them!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The most difficult obstacle is that Boudoir is automatically putting you in a harder market then any other photographer for the reasons of nudity being banded on all social platforms.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Boudoir Photographer. Boudoir like everything evolves, I stand out in this market because I have a different editing style then other photographers and I also don’t over pose my clients. Every client gets a completely unique experience dedicated to them and their body.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Kyra Nygard – Fine Grain Boudoir & Jen Montgomery Photography

These two women have mentored me this entire way!
