Conversations with Teylor Wolfe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teylor Wolfe.

Hi Teylor, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a thing for going fast; cars, motorcycles, anything with an engine. I guess it’s just in my blood. I grew up jumping bikes, riding motorcycles, and taking plenty of spills along the way. Those bumps and bruises really shaped who I am.

I still catch myself daydreaming, I’m 35 now, but in a lot of ways I still feel like that same kid chasing his dreams, only now I’ve got a family to take care of, which gives it all more meaning.

I’ve worked in a lot of different industries over the years, just doing what I had to do to make ends meet. I was raised to work hard and give 100%, but no job ever really felt fulfilling. Deep down, I knew I had to carve my own path.

Years ago, when I was on vacation visiting family, my dad had someone come out to detail his cars. The guy spent all day working on them, and when I found out what my dad paid, I was shocked. That moment stuck with me. I got home and started learning everything I could about detailing — lots of trial and error, lots of late nights. I started traveling around doing mobile services in the lakes area, and before long, things started to click.

The cars got nicer, the jobs paid better, and my skills kept leveling up. I’d worked in dealerships and manufacturing before, but nothing compared to being my own boss. I knew if I didn’t take the risk, I’d regret it forever. So I went all in and never looked back.

Now things are going really well. We got our own shop here in town this year, which has been huge. It’s been tough along the way, but we’ve expanded our services to include window tinting, and we work on just about anything — boats, tractors, you name it. We’re just getting started, and I’m excited to see how far we can take it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, no, it’s never been smooth. Starting your own business is always going to have its bumps, and I’ve definitely had my share. In the beginning, it was figuring everything out on my own, learning the craft, managing clients, and just keeping the business running while trying to pay the bills. There were plenty of late nights, trial and error, and moments where I wondered if I was doing the right thing.

Even now, running a shop comes with more challenges making sure every job meets my standards, and juggling the growth of new services like window tinting. But each struggle has been a lesson, and honestly, it’s what’s made this work so rewarding. It’s not easy, but when you love what you do, the tough parts just push you to get better and keep going.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Falls Auto Spa, we do full-service auto detailing and window tinting. We work on cars, trucks, SUVs, even boats and tractors — basically anything that needs a professional touch. I’d say we specialize in high-quality, precision work that people can really see and feel.

What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my customers. People know that when they bring their vehicle here, it’s going to get done right. I’m all in with every job, and I treat every car like it’s my own. That personal touch, along with my commitment to quality, is what sets Falls Auto Spa apart.

I’m also proud of how far it’s come — from doing mobile work around the lakes to having our own shop here in Fergus Falls. It’s been a lot of work, but seeing happy customers, repeat business, and the support from my family makes it all worth it.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Honestly, I’m completely self-taught, so a lot of what I’ve learned has come from trial and error, experimenting, and figuring things out as I went. That said, I’ve learned that being proactive and building genuine relationships goes a long way. I learned a lot from watching others, asking questions, and paying attention to how successful people handle their business.

For me, showing up consistently and doing good work has been key. People notice dedication and a strong work ethic, and that naturally opens doors to advice, tips, and connections. I’d say don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, try new things, and learn from every experience!
