Hi Troy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
BOP Custom Accent Walls & Mudrooms was founded in 2019.
Our business started after our family moved into a brand-new home and decided that it needed some character and uniqueness.
We started adding accent walls throughout the house and made many updates throughout word got out around the neighborhood and local area and our business was started. We now build custom accent walls and mudrooms throughout the west metro.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any startup the road is bumpy. You can prepare for many situations and challenges that you think may arise but there will always be the unknown, especially in construction.
We experienced your typical challenges when starting a business, efficiencies pricing models that are good for customers and that can sustain a business, and lastly facing the unknown of every house that we work on is different and present its own set of challenges. But overall the process and challenges that we faced made us better and without them wouldn’t be where we are today!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in designing and installing accent walls and mudrooms. We are known for the collaboration and communication we have with our homeowners during the process of building.
We are proud of the reviews that we have received and love when we have happy customers. I think the best compliment we can receive is that we created a fun and enjoyable experience for our customers and created a wall or mudroom that have always wanted and turned out better than they thought.
Who else deserves credit for your story?
Yes, it always takes a village. There have been many supporters along the way. We have had friends that had scheduled jobs early on and as of late, that got us off the ground, a family that has lent us a hand on jobs when needed, and many friends and family that have continued to support us by spreading the word helping our business grow. I did want to give a shout-out and thank you to my wife Stacie Osborne who has allowed me to start a business.
There have been many hours away from home; where she has had to man the home front and take on our 3 kids, deal with a messy garage, paint in the kitchen sink, tools laying around the house, and much more throughout the 2 1/2 years. I will say with the business growing we have got better about the paint in the kitchen sink and tools staying in a designated spot now.
