Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Heras.
Hi Wendy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My name is Wendy Heras. I am from Chihuahua Mexico. I was only 14 years old when my parents migrated to the Us; I lived in Arizona for 20 years. In 2012 I decided to move to Minnesota. As a single mom of 4 little children, I needed a fresh start, and I wanted to make sure they had the best education and Minnesota was on the top list. It was very hard in the beginning. I started by 0 sleeping on the floor for the first months. It took me two years to get on my feet. In those two years, I could make it to the top of the company I was working for; I became a head coach and was advertising on TV and Radio in Spanish for the company. In 2016 Real Estate became one of my dreams; in 2017, I got my license. I signed up with Keller Williams, and I have been there since. Helping others is my passion. Guiding my clients thru the entire process and being able to educate them to be homeowners is my priority. I now motivate single women and young people to work hard and pursue their dreams. Everything is possible
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Many doors closed on me. I had people tell me that a woman can’t be a boss! I had people telling me that they would see me return to Arizona worse than how I left! And I prove them wrong. Being a single mom was my major challenge. There were times when I could not afford to miss work because they were sick, which is the worst a mother can do.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Real Estate agent for Keller Williams RE; I specialize in helping clients sell or buy their homes. I work a lot with first-time home buyers! I am proud of myself because I was able to overcome every obstacle my way, I have been able to reach my goals every year, and I have been among the top selling agents in my office several times. What separates me from the competition is that I take it so seriously regarding their needs. I have become their friend and am very fun to work with!
Is something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love playing golf. A lot of people do not know that.
