Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrianna Willis.
Hi Adrianna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2020, somewhere between masking up to leave the house, watching injustice go unaddressed every single day, and missing being able to connect with my friends and family, I realized that I wasn’t okay. And every day it got harder and harder to pretend that I was. I knew that if I was feeling this way, millions of other people must be feeling the same way especially women. So, instead of wallowing in self-pity and falling into despair, I decided to lift myself up and find a way to uplift others at the same time.
Mind the Crown is my love letter to society. So many of us need to be reminded of how much we are loved and how much we are needed in the world.
I realized that although women were buying from me, they weren’t buying for themselves a majority of the time. Most women believe that self-care is a selfish act.
I deeply believe in staying connected to the people that I love in my life. In addition, spending time taking care of oneself is very important and should be everyone’s top priority.
We have shifted our focus to helping women adopt a lifestyle that allows them to be not unwavering strong at all times, set boundaries to protect their peace, and unapologetically explore the things that bring them joy through accountability and self-care products.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our journey when we first started, was unclear and felt a bit undefined. I was trying to offer something to everyone. I was spending a lot of my own money and having a house full of inventory.
I did not have a clear marketing plan and had not identified my target audience.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am passionate about bringing happiness and joy to other people. That’s where my purpose rests. Women deserve the best! Women deserve to be reminded of their awesomeness, their breathtaking beauty inside, and their strength every day, and I’m here to do just that!
I help women adopt a lifestyle that allows them to be not unwavering strong at all times, set boundaries to protect their peace and unapologetically exploring the things that bring them joy through our self care products and accountability tribe.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
During Covid, my daughter Rajine Williams, who is an artist started her business earlier that year, and my son. Stanley Williams started his business shortly after, and licensed apparel for a fraternity gave me the inch.
Angel Even – Led by Truth – provide the focus that I needed. She worked with me on my business plan and allowed me to identify multiple streams of income.
My husband does all the Facebook lives during Covid having me talk about the products, he did the first TikTok videos and helped set up the pop-ups. Major supporter….he now is working on starting a business.
My mothers has been instrumental entrepreneurship journey as early as the 3rd grade with my pre-ordered candy sales.
My daughter in law reminded me with body care products the importance of making sure my ingredients are on every product. My daughter Racquel actually was instrumental in how people view the brand when they see my picture.
So many friends allowed me to pilot or spread the word about Mind the Crown.
