Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Pudil.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up all I ever wanted was to do makeup. I wanted to make women feel beautiful. I didn’t get to go to makeup school like I dreamed, instead I took a winding road; little did I know that God had a bigger plan for me than just makeup. At the time you had to be licensed to do makeup in the state. So I went to cosmetology school… that wasn’t for me, so I only lasted 6 months. Then life happened and I had a beautiful little girl, she was such a joy and I wanted to build a good life for her. The desire to make women feel beautiful as well as my passion for makeup was still very present. So I chose to go to school for esthetics. I fell in love with how relaxing it was and I could help people unwind and give them skin that felt incredible. I have been an Esthetician for 23 years now. I haven’t always practiced as life has taken me different directions, but the passion has always been there. I opened up Evolution of Beauty, my little spa, in September of 2018. It was just me at the time. In 2020 we were shut down for 2 1/2 months but what I learned after that time, was how important human connection is. In 2021 we moved into a bigger space and a few incredible young ladies joined my team because I could no longer do it on my own. We have now been open almost 8 years! My passion for helping women unwind is even more intense now as I have gotten older and have realized how important self care is to a woman’s journey. I am here to encourage women to take the time to love themselves through their skincare journey. That even the time that they spend in front of the mirror doing their makeup isn’t about the end result but about the care that they put into themselves.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would love to say it has been a smooth road, but the reality is that owning a small business has so many challenges and lessons you can learn from. It took a few years to really understand the true cost of business. I would have given services away but the reality hit after I hired and other people were now depending on me. Having to close in 2020 also took an emotional toll, as I had finally gotten my dream! It was crushing, because we really didn’t know if there would be an end to it. Also as a small business, hiring people can be a challenge when we don’t offer the benefits or wages like big businesses do. I have learned so many valuable lessons.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I went into this field for makeup but really I do so much more than that. I do facials that will help a woman unwind from her day and leave her skin glowing. I have been told that my facials are very relaxing, leaving them feeling like they are in a state of euphoria. I of course do makeup and I love getting to be part of the most joyful part of the day; of course that’s only my opinion! I feel so blessed as my goal isn’t to change the way someone looks but to help them glow in their natural beauty so they feel confident and radiant walking down the aisle. In 2025 my number one service was actually a Brazilian wax, I am good at them because I talk so much, so women feel comfortable in a not-so-comfortable service.
I think what sets me apart is how much I actually care for my clients, I want to hear about all of the things they are going through in life and I pray that God uses me to help encourage women in ways that they can care for themselves through this beautiful journey called life. Even if it’s just to have someone who listens, or helps them unwind. It’s not just a facial!
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Sometimes I talk so much that I think my clients may know everything about me! But I can be quiet too. One thing I don’t think anyone really knows is that I would love to write a book someday. I have had the name picked out for probably 20 years. Im not 100% sure what it will be about but I know it will be about my perspective on things.
