Daily Inspiration: Meet Brett & Sheila Waldman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett & Sheila Waldman.

Hi Brett & Sheila, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We’re an independent publishing and fulfillment house dedicated to creating and distributing books and other products that encourage, inspire and give hope.

We’re celebrating our 20th year (September 27th) in business as TRISTAN Publishing, with roots dating back to Minneapolis-based Waldman House Press, founded in 1978.

We’re passionate, faith-focused people who hope to make a difference in this world with the work that we do.

We consider our team our family, and we’re so grateful for the incredible people who have walked beside us in countless ways over the past 20 years.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a small business, we have experienced both incredible highs and challenging lows over the years. Economies change. Buying habits change. Industries change. But our passion for what we do has not changed and we are confident that God’s grace has been the one thing that has never changed and has seen us through! We’re seriously grateful!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We see that the world is in need of hope. The books and products we create and represent are all meant to share hope, and encourage and uplift the spirit. We are committed to staying true to that mission now more than ever!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Well, we’re really an “open book”, so there is not a lot that we have not shared with others. But maybe a fun fact is that we (Brett & Sheila) are passionate sailors and when we’re not with family or working, you’ll most likely find us on a sailboat somewhere in the world.
