Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Olsen.
Hi Brianna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Minnesota. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development. I’ve lived and traveled around the world, but Minnesota has always been my home. I have a diverse background of work experience including: non-profit, education, management, administration, health and wellness, and entrepreneurship. Prior to entering the real estate world, I was a nutrition counselor at a wellness clinic in Minneapolis. I lost my job in 2020 due to covid which gave me an opportunity to decide what I wanted to do next in my life. I had several people encouraging me to get into real estate who recognized my passion for helping people and my love for home interiors. I decided to pursue my real estate license and jump in with curiosity!
Fast forward to today and I’ve had the privilege to help so many amazing people. To me it’s not just about a house, it’s about my client finding their place in the world! I don’t take what I do lightly, I feel so honored to assist people with one of the most significant moments of their lives. It is my main objective to ensure my clients feel supported and heard every step of their home buying/selling journey.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, it has not been a perfect journey! I’ve made mistakes and learned so much along the way and I’m continuing to learn everyday! One of the struggles of being self-employed is that no one is keeping you accountable. This is a challenge when life happens and you get down with personal things, etc. But I have to constantly remind myself that what I put into my business is what I get out of it so I have to stay consistently motivated.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a residential realtor® with the Helgeson Platzke Real Estate Group & Coldwell Banker. I have the privilege to help people buy/sell their home, which is one of the most significant transactions of their lives. What sets me apart from other agents is the care I have for my clients. I do not take what I do lightly. I have worked with clients who lived in their homes for 35+ years! I recognize what an emotional decision it is to sell their home that they raised their children in and experienced so many years of life together! I make sure they feel supported and heard every step of the way. I love the people I get to meet in this line of work and I love that everyday is different. Whether I’m working with a first time home buyer, empty nesters looking to downsize after their children have moved out, or working with friends who want to invest in real estate- I have strategies for it all.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I really appreciate my childhood. I grew up in church and was homeschooled until middle school. My parents taught me and my siblings great values – to have compassion and care for others. I remember one Christmas when I was probably 7 years old, we had a fun day as a family with presents and food and activities. As I was going to bed I started crying and my parents asked me what was wrong. I told them I was thinking about all the people who were alone without family or homeless in the cold and kids that didn’t get presents like I did. I had compassion instilled into me from such a young age and I still carry that with me. My heart of servitude is a characteristic that I’m so proud of and I owe that credit to my parents.
