Daily Inspiration: Meet Doni Everson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Doni Everson.

Hi Doni, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have 20+ years experience and restaurants 10 years being in Chicago also Denver and Omaha. I moved to Minnesota with my fiancé in May 2023. I was working in a maintenance room at a pharmaceutical brand and was missing food. I didn’t wanna work for anybody anymore so I decided my hand at PIZZA and it blew up I’ve been doing this since August 2023. I recently purchased a horse trailer to renovate into a food truck in hopes to be on the road sometime this summer or next spring.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It blew up really quickly. It was a lot of fun. I did lots of pop-ups in private parties and makers markets a couple friends giving a wedding. Everything was going fairly smooth until I recently moved to St. Louis Park and I have to readjust how I was doing my business, but those bumps tend to happen so just go with the flow.🫶🍕

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In high school when I was younger, I painted and did ceramics and various little arts and crafts throughout my 20s and 30s when I started PIZZA LLC. I already had plenty of experience in building plates and presentation and doing other types of beer, dinners and catering events so I love presentation. I’ve made thousands of pizzas each one being a work of art everyone’s different some prettier than others but it’s always fun making pizza. Expanding my pizza art into the occasional batch of frozen pizzas or Detroit style pizza!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’m more of a go with the flow person rather than riding on luck but some might say they’re the same thing!!

Pricing:

  • $20 +- per pizza
  • $40/hr private chef
