Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Marie Petersen.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My healing work began in a season of deep transformation. After giving birth to my son while working at a high-profile advertising agency, something in me awakened. Motherhood opened a doorway to parts of myself I had not fully understood yet, including my intuition, sensitivity, and spiritual gifts. Four years later, I attended a life-changing women’s retreat in Egypt. I was surrounded by women who became, and will always feel like, sisters. That experience stayed with me. I knew I wanted to recreate that feeling of safety, beauty, connection, and expansion back home in Minnesota.
That vision became The Femme Farm, a retreat and healing space created for women to gather, soften, grow, and remember who they are. The Femme Farm hosted retreats, wellness events, healing sessions, and meaningful gatherings that allowed women to feel held while they explored new parts of themselves. It taught me that great things can happen in safe spaces. We all expanded there.
After selling the original farm property, I now find myself in a sacred in-between. I am continuing the work through spiritual mentoring, energy healing, house clearings, women’s workshops, events, and travel retreats while looking for the next home for The Femme Farm. I am also currently partnering with a new space in New Hope, Minnesota, where we are offering workshops, events, and healing experiences centered around creativity, connection, and personal growth.
My work is intuitive, feminine, mystical, fierce, and healing. I meet each person where they are in their energetic healing journey and allow my gifts to shapeshift according to what they need. In a healing session, that may look like energy work, intuitive guidance, spiritual mentoring, or simply helping someone feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves. In a house clearing, I clear stagnant energy, bless the space, and work with intuition, smoke, sound, crystals, and mediumship to help the home feel peaceful, grounded, and aligned again.
Many of the women I work with are in transition. Some are navigating spiritual awakening, trauma recovery, grief, life changes, or the subtle knowing that they are ready for something more. I believe intuition and spiritual gifts are not reserved for a select few. They are as individual as our personalities, and part of my work is helping people trust what has always been within them.
Today, The Femme Farm continues to evolve. I am offering healing work, women’s gatherings, and retreats in partnership with other female founders, with upcoming destinations including Mexico, France, Spain, and Italy between 2026 and 2028. The next physical home for The Femme Farm will be expansive, beautiful, and deeply aligned with what women need. Until then, the mission remains the same: to create spaces where women feel safe, seen, inspired, and free to become more of who they truly are.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a completely smooth road, but I do think the uneven parts have shaped the work in important ways.
One of the biggest struggles has been learning how to trust a vision before it is fully visible to everyone else. The Femme Farm began as a feeling before it became a physical place. It was a knowing that women needed spaces where they could feel safe, creative, connected, and free to become more of themselves. Building something like that required a lot of faith, courage, and flexibility.
There were also very real challenges that came with holding a retreat and healing space. When you create a sanctuary for others, you are also constantly learning how to care for yourself, set boundaries, listen to the land, manage the practical parts of a business, and keep the heart of the work intact. It was beautiful, but it was also a lot of responsibility.
Selling the original Femme Farm property was another major transition. It brought grief, uncertainty, and a season of being between chapters. I had to learn that the work was never only tied to one building or one piece of land. The essence of The Femme Farm lives in the way I gather women, create safety, hold healing space, and follow the next aligned step.
I have also had to grow into my own intuitive gifts publicly, which can feel vulnerable. There is still a lot of misunderstanding around energy work, intuition, mediumship, and spiritual healing. Part of my path has been learning how to speak about these gifts in a grounded and accessible way, while staying true to what I know is real through my own lived experience and the experiences of my clients.
The struggles have made the work deeper. They have taught me that healing is not about perfection. It is about presence, honesty, resilience, and the willingness to keep listening. I am still evolving, and so is The Femme Farm. That is part of what makes this chapter feel alive.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work lives at the intersection of energy healing, intuition, sacred space, and women’s personal transformation. I offer spiritual mentoring, energy healing sessions, house clearings, women’s workshops, events, and travel retreats. At the heart of everything I do is the same intention: to create safe, beautiful spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, their intuition, and the deeper wisdom moving through their lives.
I think of my work as creating sanctuaries, sometimes within a home, sometimes within a room full of women, and sometimes within a person’s own nervous system.
I specialize in meeting people where they are. Every session is different because every person is different. My gifts tend to shapeshift depending on what the client or space needs. Sometimes that looks like intuitive guidance, energy healing, Reiki, mediumship, or spiritual mentoring. Sometimes it is a quiet, grounding session where someone simply needs to feel held. Other times, especially with house clearings, I work with smoke, sound, crystals, prayer, intuition, and mediumship to clear stagnant energy and help a home feel peaceful, protected, and aligned again.
I am especially drawn to working with women in transition. Many of the people who find me are moving through grief, trauma recovery, spiritual awakening, burnout, major life changes, or a season where they know something needs to shift but they are not sure where to begin. I help them slow down, listen inward, and begin trusting the wisdom that is already within them.
What I am most proud of is creating The Femme Farm. It began as a vision after a life-changing women’s retreat in Egypt, and it became a real space in Minnesota where women gathered for retreats, wellness events, healing, connection, and expansion. The Femme Farm taught me that when women feel safe, supported, and surrounded by beauty, something powerful happens. They soften. They remember. They grow.
What sets me apart is that I do not believe intuition or spiritual gifts are reserved for a select few. I believe everyone has access to their own inner knowing, and those gifts are as individual as our personalities. My role is not to make someone dependent on me for answers. My role is to help them remember how to hear themselves again.
I am known for creating spaces that feel safe, feminine, mystical, grounded, and deeply personal. Whether I am clearing a home, leading a workshop, holding a healing session, or guiding women on retreat, I bring a blend of intuition, beauty, honesty, and fierce care. I want people to leave feeling lighter, more connected, and more curious about what is possible for them.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My best advice for finding a mentor or building a network is to start with genuine connection rather than asking, “What can this person do for me?” The relationships that have mattered most in my life and work have usually grown from shared values, curiosity, trust, and mutual support.
For me, women’s spaces have been incredibly powerful. Retreats, workshops, healing circles, creative gatherings, and community events have all introduced me to women who later became friends, collaborators, clients, mentors, or sisters in some form. I believe there is something really beautiful that happens when women are willing to gather honestly. The right people tend to recognize each other.
I also think mentorship does not always have to look formal. Sometimes a mentor is someone you meet for coffee once a quarter. Sometimes it is another founder who is a few steps ahead. Sometimes it is a friend who reflects your gifts back to you when you cannot see them clearly. I have learned to pay attention to the people who feel expansive, grounded, honest, and generous with their wisdom.
What has worked well for me is showing up as myself, following the threads of real connection, and being willing to support other women’s visions, too. Some of my best opportunities have come through partnerships with other female founders, referrals from people who believe in the work, and conversations that began without an agenda.
My advice would be to go where you feel naturally curious. Attend the event. Take the class. Send the kind message. Ask the thoughtful question. Offer help when it feels aligned. And when you meet someone whose life or work inspires you, tell them. So much opens when we are brave enough to be sincere.
