Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Tirado.
Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story really started when I was in high school.
I’ve always been creative and loved drawing, but things really began to grow when I saw a need in my church. At the time, we didn’t really have a budget for a web developer or someone dedicated to creating graphics, so I started helping wherever I could.
Around that same time, I was taking classes like Intro to Graphic Communications, HTML, and photography, which introduced me to both the creative and technical sides of design. I loved all of it — designing flyers, working on album covers, learning about screen printing, taking photos, and especially coding. I think that was when I realized I didn’t have to choose between art and technology. I could actually bring them together.
From there, I kept learning and building. What started as helping my church slowly turned into helping other people, small businesses, and organizations bring their ideas to life through websites, branding, and design.
Over time, I grew into what I now call a Creative Developer. For me, that means I’m not only designing something that looks good, but also thinking about how it works, how it communicates, and how it helps someone show up confidently online.
A lot of my story has been built through service, faith, family, and learning as I go. I’ve had to grow little by little, often while raising my family and balancing different seasons of life. But looking back, I can see how every part of it helped shape the work I do today through JVT Design Studio.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. It definitely has not been a smooth road.
One of the biggest challenges for me has been learning how to grow creatively and professionally while also being a mother and managing real life. There have been many seasons where I had to build slowly, work in small pockets of time, and keep going even when things felt overwhelming.
Another big struggle was imposter syndrome. For a long time, I battled thoughts like, “Am I really good enough?” or “Do I belong in this space?” That was probably one of the hardest things to navigate because it was more of a mental battle than anything else.
Sometimes those thoughts still try to sneak their way in, but I’ve learned not to let them lead me. I’ve learned to look back at the work I’ve done, the people I’ve helped, and the growth I’ve had over the years. I remind myself that confidence doesn’t always come before you start — sometimes it comes from continuing to show up.
The road has had challenges, but those challenges have shaped me. They’ve made me more resourceful, more compassionate, and more intentional in the way I approach my work and the people I serve.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work sits at the intersection of design, web, and strategy.
Through JVT Design Studio, I help small businesses, ministries, nonprofits, and service-based brands bring their ideas to life through websites, branding, graphics, and digital content. I specialize in creating visuals and online experiences that feel clear, intentional, and aligned with the heart of the brand.
A lot of my work includes web design, front-end development, brand identity, social media graphics, flyers, business materials, and helping clients show up more professionally online. I really enjoy taking something that may feel scattered or unfinished and turning it into something organized, beautiful, and functional.
I think I’m known for being able to bridge both the creative and technical sides. I’m not only thinking about how something looks, but also how it works, how it communicates, and how easy it is for someone to connect with it. Whether I’m designing a website, creating a brand piece, or helping with digital marketing, I care about the full experience.
What I’m most proud of is the way my work has grown from serving a need into something that can genuinely help people. I’ve been able to support businesses, churches, and organizations with designs and websites that give them confidence and help them communicate their mission more clearly.
What sets me apart is that I bring a very personal and thoughtful approach to the work. I care deeply about the people behind the brand. I listen, I problem-solve, and I try to create work that not only looks good, but feels meaningful and useful. My background in both design and development allows me to see the bigger picture, and my heart for service keeps me grounded in why the work matters.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me through JVT Design Studio, where I offer web design, branding, graphic design, and digital content support. I enjoy helping people bring their ideas together in a way that feels clear, intentional, and professional.
A collaboration with me can look like creating or refreshing a website, developing brand visuals, designing marketing materials, or helping shape the creative direction of a project. I especially love working with people who have a heart behind what they do but need help bringing it all together visually.
People can support me by sharing my work, referring me to someone who may need design or website help, leaving a review, following my platforms, or simply cheering me on as I continue to grow. A lot of my work has grown through relationships and word of mouth, so that kind of support means a lot.
At the heart of it, I love helping people take an idea and turn it into something they can confidently share with the world.
