Daily Inspiration: Meet Justin Frost

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Frost

Hi Justin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Lakeville, MN. From a young age, I developed a passion for fashion and design, inspired by my mother’s creativity and keen eye for detail. My entrepreneurial spirit was influenced by my father, who ran his own business for many years before passing away from Parkinson’s Disease in 2021. I pursued my love for design by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. After graduation, I worked in corporate marketing for a tile and marble company for several years until I was laid off during the Covid pandemic. In 2020, I decided to take a leap of faith and founded Frostytch.

The name Frostytch originates from my childhood nickname, Frosty, combined with “Stitch,” representing my profound affinity for design. It’s pronounced FROST-STITCH.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had a wonderful upbringing, but I fell into drugs and alcohol at a very young age. Despite being in and out of jail and treatment multiple times, my parents remained loving and supportive, always wanting to see me succeed. Addiction was a constant struggle throughout my life. However, after losing everything and hitting rock bottom, I realized it was time for a change.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an artist of handmade luxury goods, focusing on sustainable fashion and design. My craft revolves around transforming old or damaged items into vibrant, new creations. Each piece is meticulously crafted in-house using authentic materials such as designer bags, wallets, purses, backpacks, shopping bags, dust bags, and labels. I am deeply committed to sustainability, striving to minimize the volume of waste deposited in our landfills.

My collection features a diverse range of products, including apparel, bags, hats, accessories, leather goods, home goods, art, and even baby clothes. While much of my work involves custom orders, I maintain a full inventory for pop-up events around the Twin Cities and regularly add new pieces to my collection.

Note: Frostytch’s pieces are not related to or affiliated with any of the original designer brands.

In addition to creating luxury goods, I am also a reseller with the ability to source almost any item through my extensive network of global resellers.

Some of my proudest achievements include being featured on the CBS News and being recognized as a fashion designer for Fashion Week MN for the past two years.

I am also deeply passionate about supporting the community by actively participating in and donating to charitable events.
