Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Zugay. Them and their team share their story with us below:
With Grace and Gold® was founded in 2014 by Kelly Zugay and Andra Barkey. Our story began in a coffee shop in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where Kelly spontaneously asked Andra, “Will you please be my friend?” And Andra said yes!
Kelly’s background is in both business and education, and Andra’s background is in design. As co-founders of With Grace and Gold®, we serve fellow small business owners through purpose-driven brand design and web design.
We have been honored to serve more than 500 small business owners through brand and web design, and in 2018, we were honored as Showit Designer of the Year. Today, we continue to serve diverse small business owners from all over the world through purpose-driven, connection-focused design.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The start of our small business journey required a great deal of learning and growing. From determining the basic details of our business, such as our offerings and our pricing, to creating our own core values, systems, and workflows — 60-hour workweeks were expected.
By our fourth year in business, with our services and systems in place, we shifted to a 4-day work week which allowed us to bring more energy and enthusiasm to our work, and therefore, to our clients.
We are firm believers in the power of a well-designed brand and web design — trusting your brand and web design to work on your behalf. We learned to practice what we preach — trusting that our business can succeed, even when we’re away from our computers and our work.

Every detail we add to a web design is rooted in purpose and in helping our clients to connect with their prospective clients more seamlessly and in a more meaningful and memorable way. Something we love and value about small business ownership is the personal, welcoming feeling we can all create as small business owners; we aim to bring a warm, welcoming feeling to the digital world — using detail, texture, and movement — which sets our work apart.
Though being named 2018 Showit Designer of the Year is one of our proudest moments — we are most proud of the success our clients have achieved. Following their design process, many clients share with us that they have doubled or tripled their revenue. We are most proud of creating a strong visual foundation through brand and web design, equipping small businesses and small business owners for long-term success.

•Fun: Both of us are big fans of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, so we listen to Bachelor-related podcasts during our workday so we can laugh together!
