KiJana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The Ark Lounge MN was born out of a desire to create something that I felt was missing, a space where faith-filled adults could gather, connect, and truly feel at home.
I vividly remember the day the idea for The Ark started to take shape. After years of balancing work, family, and my own spiritual journey, I realized that while there were plenty of places to network, socialize, or unwind, there weren’t many spaces designed specifically for Christians who wanted to build meaningful connections without compromising their values. I kept asking myself, “Where’s the place for people like me? The ones who love God but also love good music, good company, and a good time?”
That’s when the vision for The Ark Lounge MN came to life. While we don’t yet have a physical location, we’ve been bringing this vision to life by hosting intentional and engaging events that create space for people to connect, build friendships, and enjoy themselves in an uplifting environment. The Ark is more than just a lounge; it’s a place where conversations spark purpose, where ideas bloom, and where relationships flourish. Whether you’re looking to expand your business circle, strengthen your faith, or just enjoy a chill evening with like-minded friends, The Ark is that space.
God gave me the name “The Ark” because of its powerful symbolism a place of refuge, safety, and new beginnings. It also reflects the Ark of the Covenant, which represents God’s protection and His promises. Just as Noah’s Ark provided protection and a fresh start for those inside, my hope is that The Ark Lounge MN offers a similar sense of refuge and renewal for everyone who attends our events.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Creating this space hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the biggest struggles has been making sure people know about our events. Marketing has required creativity, consistency, and a lot of faith. There have been moments when I wondered if I was reaching the right people or if my efforts were enough, but God has given me the strength to keep going, and when things feel hard, I go to Him for guidance. When I see people laughing, sharing ideas, and building real connections at our events, I know I’m witnessing something special. The Ark is more than my vision; it’s a testament to the power of God, community, faith, and fun all coming together.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work as the Director of Operations at Lip Esteem. My responsibilities include managing inventory, coordinating product orders, and making sure our customers receive their items on time. I also oversee staff scheduling and providing team support to current and future staff. One of the things I’m most proud of is being able to contribute to a company that uplifts others, and I’m dedicated to ensuring that every part of the Lip Esteem experience is positive and memorable.
Lip Esteem isn’t just any beauty brand; it’s my mom’s business! Working alongside her has been such a rewarding experience. Not only do I get to support her vision, but I also get to see firsthand how her passion inspires so many women. It’s a family affair, and I’m proud to play a role in building something that uplifts others.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m a big fan of a few apps that really help me stay organized and productive. The GoodNotes app on my iPad is a lifesaver for keeping all my business notes and planning in one central place. It’s a great way to stay on top of everything! Right now, the Wix app is also my best friend as I’m in the process of building my website. But I’m always open to recommendations whether it’s apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or any other resources that can help me do my best in both work and life!
