Today we’d like to introduce you to Laine Palm.
Hi Laine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my career working full-time at a digital agency as an Account Manager, where I was first exposed to events through media and brand activations. Around that same time, I started assisting a friend on wedding days—and immediately fell in love with the fast pace, the emotion, and the need to think quickly on my feet (a skill I credit to my years in restaurants).
I had already been feeling pulled toward working for myself, and I saw a clear need for thoughtful branding and website design for women-owned small businesses. I decided to take the leap, launching my business with a focus on design while also dabbling in day-of coordination. Many of my early clients were women in the wedding industry, which gave me a natural entry point to learn the industry from the inside while building a strong, values-aligned network.
Over time, through that community, a growing focus on design, and consistently successful events, I’ve been able to evolve and elevate my business, brand, and clientele year after year. None of that growth has happened in isolation—it’s been made possible by the incredible vendors I collaborate with and the dedicated teams who support each event.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has absolutely not been a smooth road. I’ve encountered just about every challenge you can imagine—torrential downpours, missing vendors, snowstorms, difficult family dynamics, overextended timelines, and, of course, navigating an entire industry through COVID. If there’s a curveball that can be thrown on a wedding day, I’ve likely seen it.
That said, those challenges have been some of the greatest teachers. They’ve sharpened my ability to stay calm under pressure, think creatively, and lead with clarity and compassion—especially when emotions are high. Each experience has reinforced the importance of preparation, strong relationships, and adaptability, which ultimately allows me to create grounded, seamless experiences for my clients, no matter what arises.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an event planner and designer, which means I oversee and orchestrate an entire event—or full wedding weekend—from start to finish while also designing every detail that shapes the experience. From signage, florals, décor, food and beverage, and attire, to how guests move through and feel within a space, I’m creating a cohesive vision and guiding a talented team to bring it to life.
I work closely with other creatives in the industry to align everyone on the overall flow, aesthetic, and intention of the event. That collaboration is essential. I develop color palettes, design the guest experience, and translate that vision clearly so my team can execute it seamlessly.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to create a truly unique experience for each client. I’m not known for a single signature style—instead, I’m known for my ability to design from my clients’ personal style. Every event is tailored, thoughtful, and reflective of who they are.
What sets me apart is how deeply I value collaboration and trust. I respect my vendor teams and want them to feel empowered, not micromanaged—given space to bring their own expertise and creativity to the table. When people feel trusted and supported, the work is always better.
I also lead with approachability and care. My clients know they’re seen and heard, and that they have an advocate—and often a friend—by their side throughout the entire process. That combination of thoughtful design, strong leadership, and genuine connection is at the core of my work.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that has been most important to my success is emotional intelligence. My ability to read a room, understand people’s needs, and stay calm and adaptable—especially in high-pressure situations—allows me to lead with clarity and care.
Events are emotional by nature, and things don’t always go according to plan. Being able to respond thoughtfully, communicate clearly, and make confident decisions in real time creates trust with both my clients and my vendor teams. That trust is what allows everything to function smoothly, even when challenges arise.
At the core, I genuinely care about the people I work with. That awareness, combined with flexibility and problem-solving, has shaped how I lead, collaborate, and create experiences that feel both intentional and deeply personal.
