Daily Inspiration: Meet Nick Barghini

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Barghini.

Hi Nick, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2018 I decided that the mistakes I’d made in my life could not continue. I’d spent time in jail and I realized that I needed to make some changes so decided to start drawing.

Once I finished my first piece I realized that art could be more than a hobby, and I’ve since realized that not only is this my passion, but it’s also my purpose in life and the way that I can stone for the mistakes I’ve made in the past.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been smooth at all. It took me 30 years and some awful mistakes to find out what I was meant to be doing, but the lows are what make the highs recognizable.

Distraction is a major struggle for me, as is fear of failure, but since I started working in 2018 I have not stopped, and I don’t ever plan to.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Drawing and writing are my current mediums. I work with graphite and charcoal, and representational portraits are my current subject matter of choice.

What do you think about happiness?
Happiness is having purpose, and my purpose is to create and to connect. I have a need to create artwork and I crave connection with others.
