Today we’d like to introduce you to Quinn Driscoll.
Hi Quinn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Quinn, a business coach, and money mentor. I started my career as a CPA on a traditional accounting path. I then transitioned to a consulting firm where I became an expert financial witness, helping hundreds of business owners work through money issues in legal disputes. I got amazing experiences over those ten years, but it was highly stressful and deadline-driven. I knew it wasn’t what I wanted to do for the next 30 years of my career. A few years ago, I went to a conference where I heard a speaker who was a financial coach, and it dawned on me that I wanted to do that. It took me a while to overcome my fears of trying something new and failing. Eventually, I leaped, and now I teach business owners how to ditch money stress and use their businesses to gain financial freedom.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
My fellow CPAs and I are not known for being risk takers, so working up the courage to go out on my own was a huge struggle. I had so worked for so many years in an environment where I constantly had to defend myself and my abilities that I believed the only way to be successful was to be flawless. I thought I had to come up with some revolutionary new idea, ultra-professional program, or ingenious twist on an old method to be worthy of calling myself a coach. For the majority of business owners, money is a stressful topic. Once I convinced myself to go for it, I figured out that while the technical stuff is important, the thing that makes the biggest difference is prioritizing a supportive, people-first relationship. More than information or tactics, people want to support. You want to know that you’re not in trouble. You want someone to care about you enough to take the time to explain things in a way that makes sense to YOU. You want acknowledgment that money is not easy or intuitive to manage. It is a skill.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I teach business owners how to turn their vision boards into their reality. I love using my financial background and experience to support business owners and empower them to take charge of their money and feel good about it. I also love bringing feminine energy into my business. I spent a long time in a very formal, male-dominated niche, so I appreciate that I can work with other women and use pink and florals whenever I want!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
We all have our armor – behaviors or attitudes we adopt to protect ourselves from getting hurt. Mine was perfectionism. Maybe yours is pretending you have your finances under control because you are embarrassed to admit you don’t. The beautiful thing is that when you take off your armor, you can move forward instead of staying weighed down and stuck. If moving forward means leaving your money stress behind, I’m here for you!
