Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Larson.
Hi Rebecca, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I discovered my passion for event planning early on—especially during high school—when I realized how much I loved organizing every detail that brought an event to life. That passion ultimately guided my path in college, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality with a focus on Event Management from the University of Wisconsin–Stout.
While in school, I was fortunate to meet incredible mentors and, through a student club, landed a job assisting with weddings at The Enchanted Barn in Hillsdale, WI. In my very first season, when the venue was hosting three weddings each weekend, the Event Coordinator unexpectedly quit mid-season. I saw an opportunity, and—even though I wasn’t fully qualified yet—I confidently asked my boss to give me a chance. He did, and in 2015, before I had even graduated, I became the official Event Coordinator.
Those three years at The Enchanted Barn were truly invaluable. It was the perfect place to learn the ins and outs of the wedding industry, from the tiniest details to the big-picture logistics of running a venue. My boss, an inspiring entrepreneur, encouraged my growth and gave me the confidence to pursue my own dreams.
In 2018, I launched my wedding planning business in Minnesota, excited to be part of the vibrant Twin Cities wedding community. Since my start, I’ve had the honor of helping nearly 300 couples bring their vision to life. Every single wedding still fills me with the same excitement I felt at my very first one, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in starting my own business—and the one I’ve had to work hardest to overcome—is imposter syndrome. I know I have the experience, skills, and determination to succeed, yet that little voice of doubt still lingers. I’m sure many entrepreneurs can relate. What begins as “fake it until you make it” doesn’t always fade away; instead, it has a way of making you wonder when you’ll finally feel like you’ve truly made it.
Another hurdle for me has been building the confidence to post on social media. In today’s world, it’s one of the most important tools for showcasing your work and connecting with new clients, but it’s not something that comes naturally to me. Fortunately, my business has grown quickly and organically through word of mouth—something I’m deeply grateful for. A strong reputation and a commitment to exceptional service have been my foundation, but I’m excited to continue growing and finding new ways to take my business to the next level.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a wedding and event planner who offers everything from full-service planning to day-of coordination, tailored to fit each couple’s unique vision. One thing that truly sets me apart is my philosophy: I only book one wedding per weekend. This intentional choice allows me to give every couple my full attention, resist burnout, and deliver the highest level of service possible.
What I’m most proud of in my career isn’t just the beautiful weddings—it’s the relationships I’ve built along the way. From the incredible couples I’ve had the honor to serve to the talented wedding vendors across the Twin Cities, each connection has been meaningful. Weddings are a true team effort, and after years in the industry, it’s been a joy to work alongside so many trusted professionals time and again—and even to reconnect with old friends who are now part of this creative community.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Referrals will always play a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of my business, and I am deeply appreciative of any instance in which my name or services are recommended to couples planning their wedding. In addition to working with new clients, I am committed to expanding my network within the wedding industry and welcome opportunities to collaborate with fellow professionals on creative projects, such as styled shoots.
