Hi Sally, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey! My name is Sally and I am an entrepreneur at heart. 11 years ago I started a custom craft business at my dining room table of my townhouse. Since then it has grown and grown and thankfully I have a dedicated craft room at our current house. For the past 8 years, I have ran an in home daycare, but knew that was only a temporary thing while my kids were young and not in school full time. With the day approaching where my youngest would be off to kindergarten soon, I knew I needed to figure out my next step. My passion has always been to help people, so when I came across the idea of becoming a life coach, I knew I had found my next chapter. In September 2024, I started my life coaching business where I help moms reclaim their time, energy, and sense of self so they can stop running on empty and start enjoying life again. I offer 1:1 coaching, all done virtually and really help moms navigate the stresses of motherhood with ease. I love helping moms simplify their lives, by creating routines and systems that work to make their lives easier and give them back more time to be present for what truly matters. In September, I also started a home organizing business, where I help moms organize and declutter those spaces in their house that they’ve been putting off for way too long. Organizing has been a passion of mine forever and I love being able to go in and make someone’s space feel brand new.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a business (or three) is never easy, but definitely worth it! It takes a lot of hard work and faith that things will continue to work. Finding balance between where to spend my time and energy is always a fun game to play, but does get easier as time goes on. With my craft business, it started as me making gift items for people. And now, I make 1,000’s of items a year, all custom made exactly what the customer wants. And that business has grown 100% through word of mouth and repeat customers. The coaching and organizing are new and are already being spread through word of mouth, as people see the immense value in both once they say yes.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love running my own businesses and being able to focus on helping moms simplify their lives. All 3 of my businesses really focus on making other moms’ lives easier and I love that. My craft business is 100% custom made items, made exactly to what the customer wants. I make shirts, cups, signs, and many, many more items. My coaching business is very fulfilling. As a mom, we often carry the weight of the world on our shoulders and so seldom ask for help. When I am able to coach a mom, often the biggest thing they will tell me is it was so nice to have someone give me permission to finally put my own needs first. And with organizing, it’s instant gratification for both me and my client. It’s so great to take a before picture, work my magic and then see the finished result. My clients are often amazed at how much I can get done in so little time. It truly makes me so happy being able to help other moms.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have the most supportive family and an amazing group of friends who love me, cheer me on and are always there to listen through all the challenges of owning multiple businesses. I also have the most amazing coach myself that has helped me learn so much about coaching and all it entails. She pushes me to grow in ways I didn’t know possible and teaches me so many valuable things on how to serve my clients the best I can and get them the best results.
