Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel Mayan
Hi Samuel , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up I had a lot of family struggles such as divorces finding new homes and relocating to different areas throughout Minnesota with my family and in these tough times it was hard for me to love myself. I always had a strong love for others and being around multiple people for durations of time but at some point when I had more time to myself I was unhappy A lot of my time had been poured into others and their interests but lost myself in the process . But with this emotion of being uncontent with myself bloomed a love for fashion. It started with me shopping here and there Over time this turned to thrifting and looking for good pieces of clothing. With time I threw away my old closet and just bought good fresh fly type of clothing that made me feel more confident but it was the love for it that drove me. With this, I also created my Instagram account and grew my sense of fashion. Unfortunately, an incident where I was reported for not being me happened and I lost my account due to my not having id at the time with this loss came the creation of my new account. Due time I met some connections with other Minnesota content creators which helped give me the platform to expose my creative dreams and goals choreographing and modeling photoshoots. Now I’m working to get into school while working towards my modeling goals. Minnesota has a beautiful online community that has the potential to bloom and I hope to be one of the first couple content creators to grow in our state or cities and make Minnesota a greater
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Struggles I faces were moving often
Buying equipment to record or finding people willing to or take my pictures. I often struggle to get to locations so just have to make things shake to make sure they work. The loss of my instagram account the first time was a major set back due to it already grown and growing traction
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for photography, modeling and choreography I structure a lot of creative shoots and help structure while also being a model and participating in some of these photoshoots. I’m really proud of how comfortable I got being me in public spaces especially when we’re filming or taking pictures and a lot of people are watching and it can be overwhelming in public spaces at times
How do you think about luck?
Luck showed me to my creative associates and to the amazing beautiful thrift stores throughout the twin cities. But luck also played role because me uploading and promoting myself I’ve been reached out to by clothing brands to wear clothes and post content to it and to people like you willing to shine light on our lives
