Today we’d like to introduce you to Schuyler Meyer.
Hi Schuyler, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My story is that of, and would not be without, a camera, freezing a moment in time, converting a memory into highs and lows, history into 1’s and 0’s. It began long ago when I was gifted an old point-and-shoot, but as the years passed, the lenses became larger, the cameras denser, and I too grew in knowledge.
Of the importance of light, the intricacies of color, the subject, the emotion, and the purpose a single image could convey. My journey has seen lots of starts and stops, motivations and lack of’s, yet the camera is my lighthouse, always guiding me through the stories I wish to tell.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
All roads have peaks and valleys, the ones with more funding are generally more smooth. Tools become worn down and in need of replacement.
Motivation, creative inspiration, and time, all come and go, though rarely at the same time. Mistakes are made and learned from. But the road continues on, in spite of it all.

I have a wide range of shallow knowledge, with some roots digging deeper than others. Photography is what I have put the most time into and the only reason I started posting on social media.
