Daily Inspiration: Meet Sherri Bergene

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Bergene.

Hi Sherri, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My Instagram account started as a personal photo album – just a place to tuck images of special people, moments to remember, ideas that ended with success – things that I needed to make sure to hold onto – a collection that, at a glance brought, and still does bring joy. Creating all things beautiful, and memorable has been a consistent tug. As a people pleaser, and a creative one, details are a large part of your DNA. Add ‘perfectionist’ to that equation, and you’re bound to hear an automatic checklist ticking. One that makes sure the picture frame across the room is hanging straight, the pillow is fluffed, and one that makes sure each and everyone on the guest list leave relaxed, energized, full, content, comfortable – and not empty-handed. Every box ticked.

One day people began to notice, follow, leave comments, and “like” my feed. Some reaching out to offer kind words, some asking for instruction, and some thanking me for inspiring them! You see, I just always assumed that what I did, everyone did, so the reactions and engagement was a bit shocking. I was thrilled to learn that I was somehow “helping” and inspiring others out there.

Next came a couple of articles featuring the account, restaurant opening invites, collaborated staycations, and partnerships with brands that I trust and love. Pepper all that good with a slew of new relationships – some that have even grown to be like family!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
IG became a bit more complicated when I knew people were looking. (There’s that perfectionist, people pleaser thing again!) The thought of “but what if they hate it?!” popped up on occasion and was promptly addressed and ignored.

My goal is to keep my account authentic. It’s a true, reality ‘story’ about food, drink, travel and lifestyle. It’s just us. Which is a good thing. 🙂

I won’t post what I don’t like. Negativity (of any kind) can stay remote, please. So all the things, people, pets and places we love (and think you will love) will be highlighted here!

No followers bought. Ever. No contests that require someone to follow a collection of accounts, or mine. Follow if you wish! And thank you if you do!

Quality over quantity for me.

I will say that being artistic/creative can prove to be somewhat isolating. People tend to see a beautiful life on paper – one that I am very blessed to have! But I think sometimes people forget that everyone has “dirty laundry” and days, or weeks, with struggle. That part isn’t featured publicly here.

Also, in regard to that isolation I mentioned – you may not receive that invite (even from a close friend) because they feel they can’t “compete” or create the tablescape you do, or have the “prettiest” home…I am here to tell you, I am not here to compete, or judge you. I just want to spend the time with you!

Then there will be some that portray friendship. Ones I have found to be very competitive. Ones that can’t wait to knock you down whenever they have the chance. That’s life, I guess. The good news is, you’ll follow your instincts as they leave hints of their toxic nature and you’ll eventually stop giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My passion for creating experiences and beautiful things/spaces crosses over into my career. I work for local furniture company as a Design Associate that emphasizes on timeless, American Made furniture crafted by local artisans. A day in the life is a whole lot of problem solving balanced with that creative flow. Designing customers’ houses in order to make them their home. Every detail thought of, as well as an expected legendary level of service as we go!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
What motivates me and is bound to create several smiles and laughter each day? My pride and joys….My husband Brett, my sons Blake and Logan (who are now grown and out of the house) and our 2 Jack Russell Terriers, Harrison and Lars
