Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophie Meyer.
Hi Sophie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Cookies by Soph began not long after I took an online cookie class. My friend and I took a Christmas cookie class where we made 4 different cookies and I had an absolute blast.
I continued to practice and play around with it. Not long after, my boyfriend suggested that I start selling the cookies. He made me my Instagram and after that, everything just kept rolling! I’ve been doing this for only 6 months or so now and am loving it!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m still early on in my journey but I’ve been learning a lot. I’d say some of the bigger struggles have been getting my cookie and icing recipe mastered.
It’s a big goal of mine that the cookies not only look good but taste good as well!
Thanks – So what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Right now, my business is solely focused on custom cookies. These can be great for weddings, bridal showers, birthday parties, holidays, etc. Eventually, I’d like to mix more of my baking passion into the business but for now, I’m going to focus on getting myself established in where I’m at.
I work a full-time job in HR while also managing the cookie business. I’d say that’s what I’m the most proud of – that I’m pushing myself into something new and managing my time well with all of it.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Believing in myself and knowing I can do whatever I set my mind to! It can be difficult sometimes but there’s nothing better than reaching your goals and to keep growing as a person/business.
