Daily Inspiration: Meet Sophie Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophie Thomas.

Hi Sophie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am currently 17 years old – I’ve lived in Rosemount my whole life. I created a Tiktok account under the username thingsilove.com. My account has approximately 8.4 K followers.

I focus on the joys and experiences of living life. Some of these things include travel, nature, and relationships. I started this account because I have always loved using my creativity and social media skills to spread positivity.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road using TikTok. Sharing details of my personal life can always get backlash. For example, a video I posted that was “GRWM to Break Up with my Boyfriend” got negative comments regarding their opinions.

Another struggle is that many people will comment on inappropriate things. Although I do not post content that is inappropriate for young audiences, I have received some comments that may be considered sexual harassment.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Tiktoker who documents all the joys and positivity of life. I am most known for my TikTok which includes travel, adventures, and life. I am most proud of my ability to focus on positivity.

I love being able to show people how beautiful life can be. I am set apart from others because I believe that social media is about sharing a message with others rather than gaining a large following.

How do you define success?
I define success as spreading a message that will create change. For example, my goal is to share my life in a way that will inspire others to live life to the fullest.
