Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyshawn Cannon.
Hi Tyshawn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up I always dreamed of being a famous artist, art was a way of escaping reality. But growing up I was dealing with mild depression as I gotten older it’s gotten worse I stopped doing things I love like art it’s gotten bad to the point where I’ve tried to committed suicide multiple times. Growing up it gotten worse and worse I was looking for an escape I was an atheist for most of my life once I gotten to sophomore year I was gifted a Bible by my cousin I was still an atheist at that time the Bible just sat in my room collecting dust as it wasn’t touched in ages one day I decided to read it for the first time in my life I spend the next two days reading the Bible and praying I prayed and said if Jesus is the way the truth and the light I want him to show me a sign I sat their my head bow down to the floor with tears in my eyes begging for any sign I prayed for at least 30 mins later I fell asleep with no signs I tried again for the second time it was different after I was done praying I had the most vivid dream that considered proof of God it was like I was reading the Bible for pages and pages and I felt a hand on my shoulder once I felt that hand it was like I reached peace I don’t know how to describe it but my mind felt clear of sadness and it was quiet I felt at peace it was calming like all my worries were washed away i woke up that night feeling the best I’ve ever had in my life at that moment I decided to change the way I live I choose to live for God and his glory my mom told me growing up I should make art my business and one day she asked me if I would think of designing clothes this was also the same time I started to get into fashion as I was researching bought fashion I started to realize it was really a demonic place so I decided to start a business to glorified God my goal in the end is to open the first Christian streetwear store in Minnesota and keep spreading the word of God.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road or challenging it’s really been a learning process because I had to learn how to run a business myself without any help. One of the biggest struggles by far was funding its hard to save money while still being in school it would take me 4-5 months just to save up money to afford a bulk order.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My brand specializes in Christian streetwear that blends fashion with a meaningful message. Every piece is designed to start conversations about faith while still feeling wearable. I don’t want people to feel like they’re choosing between expressing their style and expressing what they believe in.
What I’m most proud of is building something that reflects my personal journey and my faith. This brand isn’t just about selling clothing; it’s about creating pieces that encourage people, spark conversations about Jesus, and remind others that fashion can have a purpose beyond trends.
What sets my brand apart is that every design is intentional. I spend a lot of time thinking about the symbolism, artwork, and message behind each collection. My goal isn’t to chase whatever is popular at the moment it’s to create timeless streetwear that glorifies God while maintaining a high standard of quality and creativity.
What’s next?
Some plans I have in the future would be to open up the first Christian streetwear clothing store in Minnesota I want to start off with a small spot in MOA then open a full size store their once it’s successful I want to start branching my business off accross different states I want to make my business vary in tune with the community I want to be able to give back to homeless I want to be able to do a charity event at least once a year.
