Daily Inspiration: Meet Veronica Embrock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Embrock.

Veronica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When the pandemic hit in 2020, everyone was trying to find something to keep them busy when lockdown happened. I have a degree in Graphic Design/Marketing and wanted to put it to use to make some extra money. I did a bunch of research and thought getting a scroll saw would be a good start to start my business. And, it was the best thing. Thanks to my dad (Happy Birthday to me), he bought me my first scroll saw. Ever since I’ve had it – I’ve been in love. Scrolling lets me be in my zone in the garage and it’s the most soothing activity to do. After doing a few signs for family and friends, I started to get orders from random people. Whether it was nursery signs, growth rulers, logos YOU NAME IT! From getting maybe 1-2 orders in a span of a few months, I’ve now been getting 5-6 large orders within a months span.

My business is called BeatHeart Co. I wanted something with meaning and special to me. I thought instantly about my late mother. My mom passed away in 2017 and would always tell me, “I love you with all my beatheart.” This business, is for my mom.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Remember in middle school, you’d take wood shop class? You thought it was a waste of time and you’d never use it when you get older? Oops, wrong. When I first got my scroll saw, it was a learning curve for myself. Trying to find the right blades, wood, pins was a struggle. I’m now in the groove of scrolling and I’m starting to feel more confident with this passion.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I wear many hats! I make digital logos, wedding décor, growth chart rulers, nursery signs and so much more. Nothing is too big or too small for me and my business. I specialize in woodwork products. I feel like I’m known for making nursery signs. I’ve made so many since I started this business, that I love doing them. Making nursery signs make me so happy and giddy – knowing that these pieces are going to be hung in their child’s room.

I’m most proud of the improvement and knowledge that I’ve gained these 2 years. In a short period of time, I’ve found many tricks that have happened make me successful. Something that sets me apart from others is that, I do everything hand made. Every piece is unique from the next. Hand cutting these pieces make each product special .

How do you think about luck?
Since starting my business, I’ve always been busy. Every month I have orders whether they are something simple as a decal or something complex as multiple wedding décor pieces. I’ve grown so much and have networked with many other entrepreneurs in different fields. Coming from a small town, people know each other and it’s great for WOM. (Word of Mouth)
