Dee Bomb shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Dee , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
For me, I would say integrity. Anybody can be intelligent and with a boost of energy, that doesn’t determine your character and everything you stand.
If you don’t have integrity, I feel like you’re not going to get far in life and if you do get far, you’re not going to be lasting long.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Dimitrius “Dee Bomb” Stephens and I’m a hip hop artist from Minneapolis, MN. I’ve been active and entertainment for the last 20 years however I’ve been in an industry for the last 10 years.
Over the years, I’ve expanded my portfolio. I DJ for “Instant Request DJ Entertainment” and I’m an event producer for *LiveNation”.
When I’m not entertaining for the crowd or working in the studio as a producer and engineer, I am operating my independent entertainment company, “Bangin Noize Entertainment” which cater to events and music distributed through Symphonic Distribution.
My fifth studio and self-produced album, ” Long Game Energy” set to drop this year which comes with a tour all while DJing 2025’s wedding season.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When you’re a black man in America, there are countless moments that shape us to how we see the world. I was fortunate enough to see the best of both worlds where one side where individuals that were worry-free and violence was the last thing on their mind.
However the other side consists of the dangerous elements of gangs, drugs, violence, over amount of police and that’s just the name a few.
Seeing both sides and being able to become likable on both sides helped me share to the people how I view the world. Sometimes the world has the good, bad, and ugly but it all shaped me.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It taught me to remain humble as a person because one minute you can have everything that you want in the next minute you could lose it all and we know karma is real and ready to collect when karma see you.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
For me, I would say the authenticity of hip hop.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Absolutely, I wanted to do this since I was 2 years old and I hit the ground running once I turn 12. I went from rapping in my bedroom to now my face and signature is in a museum.
