Today we’d like to introduce you to Broc Wurzbacher.
Hi Broc, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Raptor PCS started out in 2006 by a former owner. Broc Wurzbacher bought the business in October 2014 after working for the company since June of 2011. Broc got a certificate at Northland Community & Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN in 2014 for Cisco Networking and was planning on going into the networking field until he landed at Raptor PCS as a computer technician to get experience before moving on. Broc was offered to buy the company and the rest is history, the company is still thriving today!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
After buying a company it was vary nerve racking luckily I was able to sub lease and learn how to run a business with guidance from current management. I was only two years out of high school buying a company. It’s never a smooth road running a company as technology advances you need to advance with it. Luckily now I have an awesome team behind me to always help with the struggles.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We opened our doors on June 18, 2006, with an initial focus on computer modding. As word spread about our expertise and fair pricing, demand quickly grew for a wider range of computer services. It soon became clear that the Grand Forks community needed a shop offering comprehensive computer solutions, so we expanded our services to meet that need. We do data recovery, data transfers, custom desktop builds, virus removal, phone, console, tablet repair, laptop hardware repair, along with board level repairs.
We are most proud of the trust we have built with our customers. From the beginning, our focus has been on doing honest, high quality work at a fair price. Over time, that’s made us a go to resource in the community we serve not just for repairs, but for real advice and solutions people can rely on and our advice is ALWAYS free!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Every Industry has its own innovations ours has had several over the last 5 years. We have Crypto, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the future in this industry is hard to plan for. However I envision General Artificial Intelligence start in its infancy stage in the long term and I envision cloud computing having gained a lot more uses for large corporate customers. I think home and small business customers will be able to benefit from those innovations. Some are afraid that we will not be owning computers and using all cloud. I think the efficiencies of transitions some services to cloud would allow for more lighter weight computing lowering the cost to getting a high performance machine. On the other hand it does limit the ownership of software and services we all use on a day to day. We see this even today.
