Today we’d like to introduce you to Denis Boci-Beaird.
Hi Denis, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Denis Boci-Beaird,
I was adopted from Albania in 1999. My parents previously had a son, Michael Beaird, who was a student at BSM and sadly passed away in 1998. I attended BSM from 2007 to 2013, an experience that played a significant role in shaping who I am today.
After graduating from BSM, I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and later completed my MBA at Concordia University, St. Paul in 2022. In 2020, I founded a technology company called I Know Nothing Tech. More recently, in Spring 2025, I had the opportunity to assist with BSM’s EPIC program.
Beyond my professional journey, the past few years have been life-changing. Since 2020, I have reconnected with my birth family in Albania. My dad and I helped renovate my birth mother’s home there, and she was able to travel to Minnesota to meet my family here. Just a few days ago, I was also approved to adopt my first child from Minnesota, and in the coming months, I will be becoming a single parent.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business during COVID-19 was a challenge. I almost had to quit my business because it was becoming difficult to help my customers in person. I am glad I stayed and love my job (business) each and every day.
On the adoption side, I am adopting as a single male it was a challenge trying to adopt from my home country and adopting as a single parent but found an adoption agency that was very accepting and can’t wait to be a Dad in the next few months!

I want people to know that technology can be a challenge but loving be part of their tech journey and helping them succeed with their tech development and devices.
One of my favorite parts of my business is listening to my customers stories, being there for their good days and bad and being them for them.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
To be honest, I had to believe in myself and be my own hero. I had lots of people doubt me from a young age to even when I started my tech business. I had to believe in myself but a story I would like to share is that I was adopted in 1999 and my parents had a son named Michael who loved technology and I wanted to honor his memory and started my business. Each month I like to volunteer 1 hour of my time and just call it Michael’s Time to help honor his memory.
