Exploring Life & Business with Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino of The Best Ever You Network

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino.

Hi Elizabeth, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello, My name is Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino. I was born in Minneapolis and most of my family currently resides in Lakeville, MN. My beautiful mom, Carolyn Hamilton (Niles) now in her 70’s, was Miss Bloomington 1965! (photo attached) My grandmother, Marie Niles, was very active with Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Bloomington.

When I was younger, my parents moved to Bettendorf, Iowa. I graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1988 and graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. I was also Miss Iowa Teenager in 1988.

I moved back to Minnesota in my early 20s and lived in Prior Lake and worked for Sam’s Club in St. Louis Park as a marketing manager and then for Merrill Corporation in St. Paul.

In 1999, I left the position at Merrill Corporation in St. Paul, Minnesota, to stay at home with our children. Fast forward to our youngest entering first grade and I decided to return to the financial services industry with a different firm. At just under the one-year mark with this firm, I closed my office door and wrote the business plan for The Best Ever You Network. I then resigned and went home and began working with a neighbor to register the domain and bring up the first version of our website.

With a goal to make Best Ever You a global, multi-media, self-help site, I began asking for experts to write articles, people to feature and within a year had over one million unique visitors to the website. I also produced a magazine with cover features such as Minnesota-born actress Brianna Brown, Eva LaRue and Minnesota fitness guru Wendie Pett.

My radio show now has over 600 episodes and millions of downloads and listens and is now also a YouTube Channel. I have interviewed many notables including Ed Asner, Ed Begley, Jr., Brianna Brown, Anita Moorjani, Michael McGlone, Merrill Hoge and many others.

In 2013 I signed with Hay House and wrote the bestseller PERCOLATE – Let Your Best Self Filter Through (4/14/14).

My newest book is called The Change Guidebook – How to Align Your Heart, Truths, and Energy to Find Success in All Areas of Your Life (3/8/2022). The book is published by HCI and distributed by Simon & Schuster.

Both of these books create conversations around the topic of change. The latest, The Change Guidebook, ends the search for self-help that works, serving as a life-long companion guide and resource to complement your life. It offers ten points for making a change or adapting to unforeseen circumstances and allows you to become a change master by using the provided solutions to change, grow, and become your bravest and boldest self. These points are a process that you can engage in and turn to in times of need, crisis, or to alter your life’s course.

In addition to these books, I have also written six children’s books. I’ve had the honor of writing three of the books with the amazing Sally Huss, including A Lesson For Every Child: Learning About Food Allergies. This book is used widely in schools to help students and families learn more about food allergies and is endorsed by all major food allergy organizations.

Social media has played a huge role in my success and I am verified across most platforms. I use Twitter and Facebook the most. I have met some incredible people through my company and just had the honor of interviewing Ed Begley, Jr. on my new series “A Evening with…” which airs once per month on a Sunday night.

I am also a Master Life Coach, which means I train people to become life coaches. I have helped individuals and organizations around the world be their best and achieve world-class excellence with gratitude-based behavior and belief systems. I work as a personal and corporate development consultant, specializing in mindset, gratitude, change management, strategy, leadership, and taking action.

My husband and I also own and operate Compliance4, a boutique regulatory compliance consulting firm. We are a leader in the compliance and regulatory services industry by offering expert compliance services and high quality comprehensive regulatory solutions.

I am a member of The Forbes Business Council and attended Harvard Business School for leadership. I also serve as an Olympia Snowe Leadership Advisor for the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In each moment of my life with life-threatening food allergies. I have nearly lost my life multiple times, however, two allergic reactions stand out as the worst and most dangerous. Both were in the late 90s. In one of the reactions, I was six months pregnant with our son Cameron. We were in the hospital for over a week at Fairview in Burnsville. I was visiting with my parents and had eaten a cookie. I didn’t know it contained walnuts in it. Within a minute of eating it, I went into Anaphylactic shock and was taken by ambulance from Prior Lake to the hospital in Burnsville. I am very grateful to all those involved in the emergency response team and the ER for saving our lives.

I have been a spokesperson for FAACT – Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Connection Team for over ten years now.

In 2006, I became a food allergy spokesperson for MedicAlert Foundation and appeared on their magazine, which was mailed to over one million members. I appear with football great Jerome Bettis in the book, One of the Gang – Nurturing the Souls of Children with Food Allergies by Gina Clowes.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

In 2020, I randomly met Kris Fuller in an online women’s business group. We’ve since teamed up and she is our Chief Creative Officer. Together, we have launched a Master Class series, a life coaching certification course and over 250 blank journals on amazon under the name Mia Mel Journals. (Mia and Mel are our cats!)

What are your plans for the future?
As The Change Guidebook is released in March 2022, I am setting goals and plans that surround and foster the book’s success. I keep saying that I hope this book helps many shift their perspective on the topic of change. The book itself, is a master class in change, with a certification available. My wish is for people to find the book, use the book and recommend The Change Guidebook to others.

I am a person who sets lots of wish list goals and then as they come to life or the time is right, they become actionable. I also believe that we don’t succeed alone. In fact, I am a firm believer in writing down and vocalizing goals so that others are aware and can assist. Some of my goals are to do at least one speaking event each month beginning in June 2022. I am also in the process of writing my next book.

I would also like to see two of my children’s books, Pinky Doodle Bug and Pinky Doodle Dance be the basis for a cartoon series. I think those characters lend themselves perfectly to children’s programming.

Personally, my husband and I are making plans for our 25th anniversary — somewhere warm!!
