Exploring Life & Business with Fabio Morescalchi of Tensei Jiu-Jitsu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabio Morescalchi.

Hi Fabio, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started martial arts as a teenager back in Portland Oregon. Karate, Judo and Some freestyle type martial arts.

Early 90s started teaching for Straight Blast Gyms and eventually followed a girl to Minnesota ( now my wife) .

I’ve taught around the twin cities for years; about 17 for the Minnesota Kali Group and focused on progressing and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other grappling styles.

I started Akagi around 2015 ; later developed into a gym; however, views differed with the current owners parted ways.

Proud to have taught for Derek Barlow of Bellum Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in St. Paul for about 5 years. Great guy and school.

And decided to open Tensei Jiu-Jitsu and coming up on 3years in January.

I earned my Black Belt degree under Chris McCune back in March 2016 and I’m now a 3rd Degree Black Belt.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There are always struggles that everyone faces; life changes, disputes or misunderstandings, loss of family and friends.

After doing this for so long; most people will go through all of those.

But; you get up. Face it and keep going.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Tensei Jiu-Jitsu offers martial arts from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; wrestling, Muay Thai and MMA.

For me martial arts is first about protecting what you love; family, friends , community.

I want to give people the tools to get home at the end of the day and accessible to all levels of people. The moms; das and kids. Learning how to protect themselves, get a good workout, have the option to compete if they want and have fun doing it.

My other coaches love to compete more so they focus more on that which is great to have different views and not become a cookie cutter type of place. It’s allows for flexibility and different approaches.

Not only do we support Police; Military and First Responders we also partner with veterans support groups like We Defy Foundation and Warriors Next Adventure that help veterans deal with physical and mental trauma through Jiu-Jitsu.

We’re a small informal group that wants to do their part to be part of the community.

We’re have something for everyone.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
