Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabe Andrade.
Hi Gabe, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My path to starting Andrade Law was built step by step. It did not happen overnight. I am a first-generation attorney, so becoming a lawyer was not something that was handed to me or something I grew up already knowing how to navigate. I had to figure out the path, work hard, and learn from each stage along the way. Minnesota is home for me. I was born and raised here, educated here, and built Andrade Law here because I care about serving the people and communities that shaped me.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas before attending Mitchell Hamline School of Law. In law school, I was drawn to advocacy and litigation. I liked the challenge of taking complicated facts, organizing them, and presenting a clear argument. Law school taught me that preparation matters, details matter, and people need someone who can explain difficult issues in a way that makes sense.
My goal was always to help people. Early in my legal career, I spent significant time on the insurance defense side of personal injury litigation. That was intentional. I believed that understanding how insurance companies and defense attorneys evaluate claims would make me a better plaintiff’s attorney. That experience gave me valuable insight into how cases are defended, what issues insurance companies focus on, and why it is so important to build a case carefully from the beginning.
Over time, I knew I wanted to use that experience to help people directly. When someone is injured, they may be dealing with pain, medical appointments, missed work, bills, uncertainty, and stress all at the same time. Many people have never dealt with an injury claim before, and the process can feel confusing and overwhelming. I wanted to build a firm that gives clients straight answers, keeps them informed, and takes their situation seriously.
That is what led me to start Andrade Law. Starting my own firm is one of the things I am most proud of because it allows me to build a practice around the values I believe in. Today, Andrade Law focuses primarily on personal injury cases in Minnesota. At the core of the firm is a simple idea: authentic representation, serious advocacy, and a commitment to helping people when they need it most.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but I do not think most meaningful paths are. Being a first-generation attorney meant that I had to learn a lot as I went. I did not grow up with a roadmap for how to enter the legal profession, build a career, or eventually start a law firm. A lot of it required patience, persistence, and a willingness to keep figuring things out step by step.
Starting Andrade Law has been one of the biggest challenges and also one of the most rewarding parts of my career. As a solo attorney, you are responsible for everything. You are not only handling the legal work, but also building the systems, making the business decisions, managing the client experience, and protecting the reputation of the firm. There is no large institution to hide behind. Every decision I make matters.
Another challenge is that personal injury work often involves people who are going through a very difficult time. Many clients’ lives have been changed by the incident that caused their injuries. They may be hurt, missing work, or unsure of what the future looks like. That responsibility is something I take seriously. It requires more than just knowing the law. It requires communication and the ability to guide people through a process they may not understand.
The road has not always been smooth, but I knew what I was signing up for. The challenges have created resilience and made me more intentional about the kind of lawyer and business owner I want to be. They have made me more intentional, more prepared, and more committed to building a firm that is approachable, genuine, and serious about the work.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Andrade Law is a Minnesota law firm focused primarily on personal injury cases. I represent people who have been injured in motor vehicle crashes, pedestrian and bicycle incidents, slip and falls, dog bites, and other serious injury matters. A large part of the work is helping people understand the legal process after an injury, deal with insurance issues, and pursue accountability when someone else’s negligence caused harm.
What I want people to know is that Andrade Law was built to be both approachable and serious. I believe clients should feel comfortable asking questions and communicating with their lawyer, but they should also know their case is being handled with preparation and attention to detail. Personal injury cases can involve complicated issues, including medical records, insurance coverage, liability disputes, liens, damages, and future care needs. My goal is to help clients understand those issues without making the process feel more overwhelming than it already is.
One thing that sets my firm apart is my background in insurance defense. Earlier in my career, I handled personal injury cases from the defense side. That experience gave me insight into how insurance companies evaluate claims, what arguments are commonly raised, and why early case preparation is so important. I use that perspective now to represent injured people and to build cases carefully from the beginning.
I am also proud that Andrade Law is rooted in Minnesota. I was born and raised here, educated here, and built my firm here. To me, Minnesota is not just another place to advertise or open a branch. It is home, and the people here deserve representation that understands that.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the balance I am trying to create: authentic representation with serious advocacy. I do not want clients to feel like they are just another file or that their lawyer is unreachable. At the same time, I want them to know their case is being taken seriously. Andrade Law is built around preparation, communication, and treating people with respect during difficult moments in their lives.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that has been most important to my success is resilience. Building a legal career and starting a law firm require patience, persistence, and the ability to keep moving forward even when the path is not perfectly clear.
As a first-generation attorney and solo firm owner, I have had to learn a lot along the way. That has taught me to adapt, stay grounded, and keep doing the work. In personal injury law, resilience also has to be matched with preparation. Clients come to me during difficult moments, and they are trusting me with something important. I think success comes from showing up consistently, paying attention to the details, and staying committed to the people you serve.
