Hi Jesús Manuel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story is a testament to resilience, adaptation, and the power of dreams, but also to adversity and overcoming challenges. I am Venezuelan at heart, and in my country, I enjoyed a stable life thanks to my heavy cargo transport company, Transporte Vielpa C.A. But the economic crisis wasn’t the only challenge I faced. I was a victim of aggression and persecution by the government, which forced me to make one of the most difficult decisions of my life: to leave my home in search of a better future for my family.
The humanitarian crisis and political persecution hit us hard. As a father and husband, I felt the responsibility to provide them with a dignified and safe life. So, we embarked on a journey full of uncertainty towards the United States, leaving behind everything we knew and loved.
The first few months were a challenge. We were looking for a place to put down roots, but the reality was harsh. On top of that, my mother, who lives in Venezuela, desperately needed access to medicine and food.
That’s when we discovered Minnesota. A state that welcomed us with open arms and offered us the opportunity to rebuild our lives, despite the emotional wounds and uncertainty we carried.
I started working as a gardener, saving every penny. My wife, a brave and entrepreneurial woman, supported me unconditionally. Together, we bought a car, then another, and finally a trailer.
With the help of my nephews, we brought our project, Crazy Towing LLC, to life. And by adding my brother-in-law, who was a mechanic in Venezuela, we were able to offer towing, maintenance, and repair services.
Crazy Towing is not just our livelihood; it’s a symbol of hope and perseverance. It’s the most beautiful gift that Minnesota has given us.
This state has provided us with security, well-being, and the opportunity to grow. I am convinced that without this experience, we would never have founded our own business.
Minnesota is a place full of opportunities for those who, like me, are looking for a better future for their families. I am eternally grateful to God and to this state for welcoming us as their own.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneurship is a path full of challenges, but also great rewards. In our case, the obstacles were numerous, but each one of them pushed us to grow and strengthen ourselves as a family and as a business.
One of the first challenges was economic uncertainty. When we arrived in this country, we didn’t have enough resources to start our business. We had to work hard and save every penny to be able to buy our first car and then the trailer.
Lack of knowledge of the local market was also a significant obstacle. We didn’t know the laws, regulations, or business customs of this country. We had to learn as we went, making mistakes and learning from them.
Competition was another considerable challenge. The towing services sector is very competitive, and we had to strive to differentiate ourselves and offer a quality service that would allow us to earn the trust of customers.
But perhaps the biggest challenge was adapting to a new business culture. We had to learn to communicate effectively, to negotiate, and to build business relationships in an environment different from what we were used to.
Despite all these obstacles, we never gave up. We maintained a positive and persevering attitude, and we focused on our goals.

And lastly, Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Thanks to my brother-in-law’s experience as a mechanic, we offer vehicle maintenance and repair services. This allows us to provide a comprehensive service to our customers, from towing to repairing their vehicles.

Family holds a prominent place in my life, as it has been the fundamental pillar in both the difficult and wonderful moments we have shared. This family unit provides us with a sense of security and belonging that transcends the physical place we find ourselves in; the simple act of being together translates into an unparalleled emotional warmth. Furthermore, undertaking a project together, working on it, and achieving it as a family deeply enriches our relationship and gives incalculable value to each step we take on this path. The collaboration and mutual support generated in this process strengthens us and allows us to face challenges with greater resilience and determination.
