Today we’d like to introduce you to Kos Adam.
Hi Kos, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My sister, Amal, and I come from a close-knit, lively family that cherishes celebrating life’s milestones. With a large family, there are countless birthdays, graduations, and memorable moments to commemorate. As the eldest siblings, we naturally took on the role of ensuring these occasions went off without a hitch. Our passion for event planning and decorating blossomed beyond family gatherings over time. We began organizing events for friends, which quickly expanded to friends of friends. During our college years, we planned events for various student-led organizations, gaining invaluable experience. In 2020, after graduation, I started missing the excitement of event planning and decided to explore it as more than a hobby. It all began with crafting balloon numbers in 2021, and from there, we ventured into organizing picnics, birthdays, bridal showers, and now, weddings. Our journey into event decorating has been enriching, and we’re just scratching the surface of what we can achieve. We’re thrilled to see where this passion takes us next!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has truly been a continuous learning journey for us! We frequently find ourselves navigating through unexpected challenges, and that’s been an integral part of our growth. One of the initial struggles we faced was underestimating the time commitment involved. Event decorating is far more than just a weekend endeavor. It entails many tasks during the weekdays, including responding to emails, conducting venue tours, and sending out proposals, to mention just a few. However, every project we take on becomes a valuable learning experience. These encounters have enriched our expertise and equipped us with the skills to make the next project go seamlessly. It’s remarkable how these experiences contribute to our growth as event decorators, and we eagerly embrace the challenges that come our way, knowing they’re the stepping stones to success.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us more about your business.
We are Mulki Events and Design, a business founded by two sisters who named it after our mother, a continual source of inspiration and creativity. We are known for our event decorating services in the Twin Cities. Our services include complete event decor, custom signs, balloon installations, and memorable picnics.
