Today we’d like to introduce you to Laurell Natalie. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Laurell is a dedicated skincare entrepreneur native to Duluth, Minnesota. Growing up, she had always known the importance of proper skincare. Even as a young girl, she would diligently wash her face daily and apply lotion. After becoming a mother at 20, she enrolled in cosmetology school but quickly found her true passion in skincare after a challenging haircut experience. She pursued Esthiology, moved to Minneapolis, and worked at her first medical spa in 2013. This inspired and fueled her desire to combine skincare with the medical field. A few years later, she was accepted at Rasmussen University to pursue a nursing degree.
While shouldering financial obligations, as well as providing for three children, she remained persistent and determined. To pave the way for her future, she decided it was time to gradually build her business part-time while in nursing school. Starting from scratch with zero clients or medical equipment, she found a delightful spa and began renting two days a week. Superior Skin Aesthetics was born. Building her reputation and promoting her services proved to be a challenging endeavor, but despite all, her determination was unstoppable. After a few years of unwavering effort, she earned an Associate’s degree in science and an ADN in registered nursing. In October 2022, she proudly opened her suite in St. Paul in the Grand Ave/Summit area.
With unwavering determination, she plans to continue honing and refining her skills. In a recent achievement, she obtained her Minnesota esthetician instructor’s license. A milestone that allows her to inspire and educate those aspiring to venture into the world of Esthiology. With great passion and expertise, she now shares her knowledge as a part-time instructor at Medspa Institute of America in Edina and will simultaneously attend injection classes at the institution. This dynamic approach enhances her capabilities and broadens her knowledge in the medical field and business aspects.
With a clear vision for growth, she is expected to expand her specialties by June 2024. Laurell aims to inspire others by exemplifying the transformative power of following one’s passion and never giving up. Through her experiences, she hopes to spread the message that unwavering determination can lead to remarkable achievements and make dreams a reality.

Reflecting on my high school years, I did not prioritize my grades, a decision that had consequences when I entered nursing school.
I found myself in the position of self-teaching the essentials and extending study hours to self-educate on concepts spanning devices, medications, and terminologies.
We’ve been impressed with Superior Skin Aesthetics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Superior Skin Aesthetics is nestled in the heart of St. Paul, Minnesota within the Grand Ave/Summit neighborhood. Laurell is committed to tailoring individual treatments by thoroughly comprehending the unique diversity of every skin type. She takes the initiative to methodically experiment with new products first.
This ensures formulations and delivery dually represent the latest revolutionary advancements in the industry. What distinguishes her from others is her meticulous selection of top pharmaceutical products that deliver effective results. Her specialty centers around transformative treatments and corrective skincare such as acne treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, and hydrofacials.
Addressing a range of concerns including fine lines, sun damage, enlarged pores, oily skin, and acne, just to name a few. This approach guarantees that every client receives ideal, personalized care and achieves effective outcomes.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I admire St. Paul and its welcoming community and family-oriented atmosphere. Family being a top priority, I must reside in a sizable city that is also family-friendly. Fond of learning about the city’s extensive history that stretches over several decades.
I take great delight in not only savoring the offerings of the city’s oldest and most historic restaurants but also exploring the new ones that have emerged. She feels privileged to be part of such a significant community. Her dislikes of St. Paul are the POTHOLES!
