Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Hanson.
Hi Leah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For years, I personally struggled with hormonal cystic acne. I went to a dermatologist and it seemed my only option was heavy meds. I told them I didn’t want to be on accutane and was told you can not clear this without it. In that moment, I said watch me. Then and there I went to school to be an Esthetician. I remember feeling so discouraged seeing the dermatologist, it was a 20 min appointment they did not go over my diet, allergies, possible external factors etc. Not everyone can be on this medicine let alone want to- My passion started with my own skin, and now it is my mission to be a well rounded Advanced Esthetician and give my clients their life, and their confidence back. Some of my clients come in with Grade 3 acne, and together we execute results through treatment and proper home-care. Some might think facials are just relaxing, however there are some who can’t leave the house due to depression from their appearance. This drives me to do my very best every single day. The Zen Den started in October with a hand full of clients and now I have a clientele base of over 200 clients and it continues to grow.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One word that means so many different things to so many people. COVID. Building a business during a pandemic is probably the toughest and most risky thing I’ve ever done. I knew I had to make the leap of faith for not only myself but my clients. I wanted to create a space for my clients to seek peace, results and healing. Due to COVID my previous company like so many others pushed some of their values to the side to make sure they made the money they needed to survive. Pandemic or not my values, integrity and level of service will not be compromised. When opening it was suggested I get with an accounting firm, being new to everything admin I was 100% taken advantage of, but I knew I had to stand tall to make it. In which I did and after 2 months of back and forth I received my refund- at times I felt defeated, like I was in over my head, but I knew if I was to be taken seriously and protect what I am trying to build I need to step outside my comfort zone and get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Specializing in advanced treatments, and Reiki healing we treat the client physically, mentally and metaphysically. I am known for my calming, supportive all are welcome here environment. I am known as well for my in depth consultations and treatment plans. It is my mission to give my clients the tools, knowledge and self care to live everyday confident, uplifted and tranquil. My style is a meditative relaxing touch with clinical results. I believe you can absolutely have the best of both worlds. I want you to feel completely renewed physically and mentally! My values and the experience I create for my clients is what sets me apart from others. That, and my killer neck massages with every service! What I want the readers to know is the difference in experience, quality and values are much more than the results provided. Here at The Zen Den my clients truly become family.
Any big plans?
My future plans are to expand on the wellness side of things. Bring on medical massage therapists, other Reiki healers, salt room, nutritionist, life coach, etc. I want to be a one stop shop for wellness. My super fun goal is to have an infused water bar, with different combos and enhanced vitamins! Right now you get a good ol regular bottle of water after your service and I’m ready to bump it up!
