Exploring Life & Business with MIchael Steinhofer of Four Seasons Builders

Today we’d like to introduce you to MIchael Steinhofer

Hi MIchael, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Four Seasons Builders was my father’s company that began in the mid 90s. At the age of 18 in 1999 I began working full time for his company. By 2002 I was the foreman running a crew. We built custom homes, hog confinement barns and post frame buildings. The only subcontractors we used were plumbers and electricians. I learned how to do all the other trades on a home including foundation and concrete, framing, roofing, siding, drywall, trim. Around 2008 during the housing market recession we turned to mostly post frame buildings and homes to stay busy. We won awards for our post frame homes. In 2013 at the age of 68 my father hung up his tool belt. I then took over the reigns for Four Seasons Builders. Since that time I have built homes for Dr Horton and Lennar as well as post frame buildings. We are now a full scale General contractor providing roofing, siding, windows and gutters.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with any business there will always be struggles along the way. In 2015 I fractured both bones in my leg and was unable to work for over six months. That’s when I switched gears with the company and started managing jobs. I also learned valuable lessons working for hancock claims consultants doing high and steep inspections for insurance companies as a subcontractor. That lead me to where I am today. I’ve managed roofing, siding, gutters and windows jobs since 2019.

As you know, we’re big fans of Four Seasons Builders . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I believe what sets me apart from others is my vast knowledge in the construction industry. Im a perfectionist and do not accept anything but the best quality workmanship. I’ve dedicated my life to helping people and love what I do.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Although work consumes most of my time my passion for the outdoors including hunting, fishing and camping. I also enjoy traveling with friends and family.
