Exploring Life & Business with Peter Allen of Do Good Diaper Service

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Allen.

Hi Peter, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
In 2008 my wife and I went to visit my new niece in Boulder – while there, someone put a bag on my brother’s porch which turned out to be their cloth diaper delivery. I thought it was a great idea and I had always wanted to open my own business so I started one in Minneapolis. Over the past 14 years, we’ve helped thousands of families diaper more sustainably and kept millions of diapers out of landfills.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing is easy! We opened our doors during the 2008 recession and then that covid thing came along. But through it, all babies continued to poop.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Anyone can use cloth diapers and our service makes it easy. Our parents get the environmental and health benefits of using cloth diapers but we do all the gross stuff. We have a great reputation for customer service and helping parents through an exciting time in their lives and we want to help make that experience as easy as possible.
