Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee Ryski.
Hi Renee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always felt empathy for people and loved making them feel better. I used to be a nurse who specialized in helping patients recover from eating disorders. I learned how much I love listening to people, and helping makes them feel better about themselves.
I found that I could still do all of those positive things when I began a career in the aesthetics industry in 2003. I started out performing laser hair removal, and next a certified nurse injector. I love being able to provide a customized experience for each patient and truly listen to what their main concerns are.
I use my eye for aesthetics to make suggestions and offer them advice, while truly having their best interest at heart. When I received the opportunity to become the new owner of Refine in 2021, it was an opportunity I had been working towards my whole life, and was ready to begin this next chapter.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I originally became a nurse before I had kids. Once I had my two boys, Andrew and Adam, I realized the life of a nurse was too demanding for the amount of time I wanted to spend with them. That is when I discovered the world of aesthetics. It was a little bit of a transition from what I originally planned on doing with my career, but looking back, it was the best thing that ever happened. I have now been in this industry for over 20 years.
When I first started, it was a big learning curve, and took a lot of hard work and dedication to learn everything I know now about lasers, injectables, and other aesthetic treatments. Over the years, it was also difficult learning to work with a lot of different types of people. I am so fortunate now to be able to work for myself and create the type of workplace for my employees that I so desperately wanted when I started in the industry.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Refine Laser & Skin Care we specialize in injectables, lasers, and other medical-grade skin care treatments. What sets us apart from others is that we have over 20 years of experience in the industry. We also pride ourselves on welcoming each client, old and new, as if they are family.
We create friendships with our clients and even after meeting some for the very first time, they leave feeling like a friend. We are always continuing our education and training so we continue to learn and refine our skills and technique. You will not find a lot of places out there like Refine!
What matters most to you?
The thing that matters to me most is making my clients feel beautiful and confident. I have a unique experience in that I started as a nurse for patients with eating disorders. I am especially aware of the negative effects of having a negative body image and poor self-esteem. It is such an honor that my clients trust me with their aesthetic needs and are confident in my expertise.
Every one of my clients leaves here not only feeling more beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. I must bring out each client’s natural beauty and accentuate the unique characteristics that make them themselves. Thanks!
