Hi Adriana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Lakehouse Candle Co began in 2020 as an idea that came to mind one day and, Lord willing, has taken off in success ever since. It began with two friends from college coming together through less than ideal circumstances with both losing their jobs, and creating beauty through the adversity.
With the main idea behind the company being creating MN lake-themed candles, we knew that the uniqueness and originality it could bring to our customers hadn’t yet been done and therefore could stand out to the others in the market.
When Lakehouse began, it truly was starting and seeing where God would take it. Little did we know that it would lead us to wholesaling now to over +200 vendors in MN and the Upper Midwest and beyond. We hope to continue to growing Lakehouse and expand beyond the Upper Midwest, as well as adding more to our line beyond candles as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our biggest hurdle, as we had mentioned we began in 2020, created many obstacles in the supplies category as we tried to start our company. With many hours of connecting with various suppliers and online searching, we managed to find the jars and lids we had wanted to use for our brand. It was very difficult to keep those supplies in stock as there was so much uncertainty, yet it created only more consistency and reassurance as time went on and the path only got easier. It was absolutely a leap of faith to do so, and having open-mindedness during that time was very crucial.
We’ve been impressed with Lakehouse Candle Co., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lakehouse Candle Co specializes in MN lake-themed candles with all natural wax and crackling wooden wicks. We ensure high quality candles created in small batches made locally right in Eden Prairie, MN. We are a woman-owned business and give all Glory to Jesus for our success and where we are today.
Lakehouse is set apart from all other brands in that we specialize in bringing memories of the 10,000+ lakes we all know and love, and bring them into the essence of our candles right into your homes. We take pride in the quality and uniqueness that Lakehouse Candle Company brings amongst our other competitors.
What does success mean to you?
I define success in the joy and contentment I carry in my day to day activities. To have success is to be content in where God has me in any given moment. The exciting and the mundane, the highs and lows, to find true peace and presence in life.
