Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Valdovinos.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been in the Warehousing and transportation business since I was 15 years old & have watched my parents flipping homes and investing in Real Estate since I was a young child. Watching my parents in Real estate is what later inspired me to create RDS.
What is RDS you ask? RDS stands for Real Estate Development Services. I began following my parent’s footsteps by investing in real estate and once I got established I began my warehousing and transportation company – two things I am very passionate about, real estate and 3rd party logistics. RDS 3PL has now been in business for over a year and my goal is to continue to grow in 3rd party logistics.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely was a struggle in the beginning, my significant other (Carissa Espey) created my logo and helped me establish my office space in Hudson Wi. It started with just me and one of my friends that believed in my ideas and was willing to help me with deliveries. I was driving on the road for days while doing office work on my own for months, it wasn’t easy. Being in this industry for so long I knew what I needed to make RDS work but knew I couldn’t do it all on my own. Thankfully my previous employer gave me their full support and partnered with RDS as their new agent.
We quickly became extremely busy which lead to needing to expand the team. Finding loyal and reliable employees was not easy and there were a lot of growing pains during this time. When starting out you make do with what you have and I didn’t start with the fanciest of equipment which sometimes made things difficult. Slowly but surely my team began to grow and so did my business.
RDS delivers nationwide from MN, WI, IA, IL, ND, SD, and more. We specialize in white-glove medical deliveries, residential white-glove deliveries, and more. We now have several customers, have done over 20,000 deliveries, and have over 30,000 sq ft of warehousing space in Hudson, Wi. As a business owner, there will always be growing pains but I will take those growing pains in stride and use them as fuel to continue to grow.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think in the next 5-10 years this industry will grow exponentially, especially with AI technology and e-commerce business as people get more comfortable ordering products and supplies online.
