Hidden Gems: Meet Dassah Mariee of Dassah’s Hair Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dassah Mariee.

Hi Dassah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well, I started my first YouTube channel I believe back in 2007 when I was in high school. I would joke around like I had my own talk show on it. I didn’t really take it seriously until about 2013. I have always been into hair and makeup but didn’t start wearing makeup until around 15. Around the same time I fell in love with wearing wigs. I’m happy my parents let me experiment and truly find who I was and what I liked. Fast forward to now, I was doing YouTube full time. I was posting makeup and hair reviews weekly. I would get people asking me do I do hair, or if I sold hair. That’s when I decided to start my own hair boutique Dassah’s Hair Boutique where I sell wigs, hair extensions & lashes. Being a stay-at-home mom of 2, while also homeschooling my daughter. I wanted to be able to be at home with my babies but also be able to contribute to the household. Social media has been a big blessing to me and I’m so happy I decided to go for it, it has truly changed my life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, I did have people in my life doubting me and telling me to get a real job. Or people telling me I would never get anywhere but I pushed forward and I am so happy I did.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Dassah’s Hair Boutique?
I have my own hair boutique where I sell wigs, extensions, and lashes. What sets me apart from others has to be my passion. I am not just out here taking people’s money. I have a love for this and want to make sure my customers are happy. I’m proud I have started this from the ground up with no help. I had a vision and ran with it. I want the readers to know I’m a small business of one. I package & ship everything myself. Shopping with me is helping a stay-at-home mom put food on the table and for that, I will forever be grateful.

What’s next?
In the future, I would love to open up my own actual hair store where customers can come try on wigs and build a community.

Pricing:
