Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Jeffress.
Hi Emily, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Emily and I am the owner and lead planner of Lace & Brass Events, a business that I started in 2014. I live near Bayfield, Wisconsin and found that there was quite the wedding industry here, on Madeline Island and throughout northern WI/MN. With a passion for wedding planning and years of wedding industry experience, I took the leap and started LBE. I now have a team of seven incredible women working with me throughout northern WI/MN.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As I’m sure everyone experienced, spring of 2020 was the most difficult part of our journey. The uncertainty of weddings and events caused many couples to postpone or cancel their 2020 weddings. Thank goodness we were already offering elopement and intimate ceremony packages prior to 2020. By May 2020 we had couples booking even more elopements with us for that year.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lace & Brass Events?
Lace & Brass Events offers wedding planning, wedding coordination, decoration rentals and elopement/intimate ceremony packages. Our ideal clients are couples who love the outdoors and are madly in love with each other! Whether couples want to get married with 200 guests or elope just the two of them, we are so excited to work with them doing what THEY want to do. Lace & Brass Events mainly serves northern WI and MN but also offers destination elopement packages for those wanting to travel outside of the Midwest.
Lace & Brass Events has been awarded Wedding Wire Couples’ Choice Awards six years in a row and The Knot Best of Weddings Hall of Fame.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My family! I’ve been married almost 9 years to my husband and we have two children, 8 and 6. I love to laugh, all things outdoors, reading and to travel. My very favorite place that I’ve traveled is Banff, Alberta where I’ve had the incredible honor of planning an elopement in 2019.
