Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Erhart.
Hi Erica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been in the hair industry since 2007. I’ve always had a love and passion for hair and all things beauty since childhood so when I was ready to be serious I went to school. I’ve been able to raise my family (6 children) and still do what I love! Throughout the years of raising kids the salon was my outlet in the evenings and although those years I worked little it always brought me joy. As my kids have started school I’ve been able to put more back into my career. I’ve been renting for over 12 years now and had my own salon suite for 5 years. Rooted Salon in the my salon suites building in Bloomington has represented what being “rooted” looks like to me. I’ve been rooted in what I love and rooted in my faith and now beautiful things have grown. My clients are like a 2nd family and I love having a space for someone to walk in and feel loved, beautiful, and valued. Rooted is not only to make your outside look good but I want you to leave here feeling even better in the inside. Being a women’s and being able to have a successful business and to have been able to raise my kids has been beyond the biggest blessing. It hasn’t always been an easy road but it’s been worth all the bumps along the way. Almost 19 years and I’m still just as passionate about the hair/beauty world! Education never gets boring and things are always evolving!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a mom of 6 beautiful kids has definitely made having a career challenging however being a salon business owner has made it possible for me to do both!
We’ve been impressed with Rooted Salon by Erica , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Rooted Salon is my full service salon operated by yours truly! I specialize in color, haircuts, extensions, and styling. I have a beautiful, relaxing space for my clients to come in and walk out feeling refreshed, beautiful, and relaxed not just physically but also mentally! I like to think of it as a hairapy appointment. I know everything and anything you need to know about Morrocanoil products because they are amazing for all hair types.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m looking in the future to going back to school for nursing to eventually add injectables to my salon menu.
